Came across this research recently and I think the results are very impressive:

The hightened resolution and HDR exmaples are cool, but the object removal stuff is excellent. You simply can't beleive what you watch anymore.

Such technology will be used in film making in the future, making video editing much easier compare to current frame-by-frame batch editing. What i like most is object removal. For all the other enhancements like HDR photos, it really amaze me as the system itself is self computing Ambient Occlusions and depths maps.Really looking forward to see how would this research end up in film industry and how much would it cost on end-user side.

Well that is not research but rather advertising material for that company. And I am really impressed how they are calculating in depth maps and so accurately it is really great algorithm behind it all. And those things with extrapolation look really impressive of course if they provided first manufactured videos and not some frame by frame editing.
