nyy26 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2008 Chien-Ming Wang is the MLB's winningest pitcher over the last two-plus seasons. Wang was examined Monday in New York and was diagnosed with a mid-foot sprain of the Lisfranc ligament of the right foot and a partial tear of the peroneal longus tendon of the right foot. He's will be on crutches and have to wear a protective boot for at least six weeks. According to this timetable Wang wouldn't be walking freely until August, and would require weeks of rehab to return his arm to pitching condition if he returns at all for the 2008 season. This is a big blow for the yanks, but they could patch it up. Kennedy will be back within a month. Currently, Dan Guise looks like he will take Wang's next start. Other options in the minors are Chase Wright and No-Kei Igawa. Danny Mcuticion hasn't had enough time in AAA, Jeff Karstens and Alan Horne are just coming off injuries. Trading for a pitcher such as C.C. Sabathia, Randy Wolfe, or Derek Lowe are options in the trade market. Hey, how about Roger Clemens?
