tricky77puzzle 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2008 I think every 5 minutes is a little too often. The children will feel watched and you can't really do anything productive between 5 minutes.

Saint_Michael 3 Report post Posted February 14, 2008 Most of them I agree with but I would say instead of watching them every few minutes block the sites completely until they are old enough and mature enough to handle them. You can do that with security suit software, most firewall software, and of course you can install tracking software and check on it later to see where your children are. However, it's all about trust and both parents and children have to build that slowly, because trust is easy to break and children get harm the most on the internet, and also your children to need to rely on you when they are being bullied especially on the internet. Also limit the amount of time they spend on the computer as well and that will be even better for most young children.

tricky77puzzle 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2008 ''thanks for the advice saint Micheal. trust is the answer. 8-)"Trust" meaning that you don't keep a whitelist and block all other sites that aren't TreehouseTV.com.Limiting the amount of time is okay, but also, with some more advanced parental controls, you can limit the actual times that the child goes on the Internet. (say, between 6:00 and 6:30 per day only.)
