Eh, directories and search engines are different. I use google.. almost everybody does.But, in reality... im very impartial to what search engine i use. I could really care less.But yet, i use google anyway. I think its probably the fact that its so straight forward.Google.com, then you type it in what you want to search. It really couldn't be any easier."So easy, a cave man could do it..."oh, wait, wrong company.Hold on though, aren't there sites that claim that they search multiple search engines?What about http://www.dogpile.com/? Im pretty sure they search multiple search sites for the answer?Would that mean that there IS something better than google. Maybe not, considering thatdogpile, in reality, acts as a front end to google. Google technically does all the work for dogpile.Hmm... loopholes...

I don't think so, even though the concept of call center in searching is interesting but its not always useful. I have used it for few searches but found that to explain "what I am searching", to machine is more easy than to explain it to a human. Its irritating, I love only google. It's simple, easy, fast and accurate.

Google is the best because it's got a recognizable name and logo, a simple and intuitive homepage, great results, a good algorithm, and many other services.

 

Until someone can match Google's great service and simplicity, it will stay number #1 in terms of search engines.

i personally prefer google as a search engine over all others, simply because its what i am used to.if there was a person who were to make another search engine, you better make it good to compete with googlebecause they are tough website to beat.

To me, I kinda like the search engine dogpile... It may not have a lot of search results, but that's ok. It has the best search engines all piled up into one! (visit Dogpile.com)

1. I prefer using google. To me, i seem to always find what i am looking in the few pages if not the first one. Also i witch to advanced search at almost.

2. I used yahoo and msn sometimes as addition . I think the givin link to dogpile depends on yahoo and not take from google. This was from the first search i applied but can be not the final conclusion

 

3. Advanced research:

- Google has advanced search where u search for something in particular language, added in specific time, in URL, in headings, in title,..with specific word or phrase, or excluding words that reduce the number of pages.

 

- Yahoo has now advanced research but to who knows the link of that but not easy to switch from the normal advertised yahoo but from: http://searchenginez.com/yahoo_search.html

 

- Msn has now advanced search in the new live search

 

4. Video research:

- google has video search. . Yahoo has as well. msn has in its live search. google also have its own youtube video search, well if you search videos it mostly all youtube

 

- Yahoo has video search

 

- msn in its livesearch has video search

 

5. Book Search:

Google has book search and you can read any books [10 pages by 10 pages].

 

6. People Search:

id say i would use google or maybe yahoo search. i mostly use googles search for searching videos and some music and i use yahoo to search information on something i am looking for, so id say yahoo mostly.

I prefer http://www.com/, which is a fast, easy, and fun way to find what you need. It is not as main stream as google, but it still shows good results almost every time, even for hard to find things. I also like http://de.ask.com/?o=312&l=dir because you can ask questions and it will give you answers, plus it doubles as a search engine.

A while ago when my site was new, i searches for it on both google and yahoo, and it would come up on yahoo and not google. Later it would come up on google. So I dont know which is best, but I only use google. I dont like yahoo even it does get better results. Although i heard somewhere that yahoo uses google as a search engine... is that true?

ah... you all are naughty people you should be using blackle. it is basically like google, except you are saving kilowatts from your screen, because it is proven that a black background uses up less energy than a lighter backrgound.

as for google, yes, i do believe it is the best search engine. however these days, it is being largely influenced by advertisers and these 'seo' tactics, and the relevancy of its search results is declining

I used Google as my first search engine and I still use it now. It always finds what I am looking for and what could be the big difference?? But I also started with this idea when I use Internet Explorer, nowI am using mozilla....Greetzz

I have tried a lot of search engines...but I found that google is the bestBut another good search engine is live search....But I think it could be improved more ...for now Google is the best...

Well when it comes to searching GOOGLE is the word for me.Its fast,accurate(??) and blah blah blah......well putting any other search engine against google is like pitting a 15yr old to fight against Mike Tyson LOL!!!!!
