arza1 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2007 i just join the Xisto community....... i was just wandering if i can go ahead and start building my site although i do not have enough ctredits. i know i can start writing the code anytime but is there anyway to start my site here without making the domain.i acually have most of what i want already written but even after i do get enough credits i am still confused on what to do. this site isn't very good at giving instrucions on how to use their services.i appreciate any info that you can give me. i could read into it but hey what are these forum for. -thanks
nol 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2007 No, you must have enough credits. Once you have enough credits you can apply for your hosting account, which will be screened, and then approved, or even denied. Then after this happens, your credits wil be erased, and your credits will turn into how many days your account can remain in active on these forums.
Saint_Michael 3 Report post Posted June 4, 2007 Well you could set up a qupis website which is free and you don't have to spend credits on it and upload your website there and work on your design that way, mind you you will have to deal with a text ad on your site. Or you could set up your computer as your own server by using XAMMP software and then you can build your site that way and actually display what it would look like. As per instructions on what to do and how to do everything is right on this link and Xisto does give the instructions you just have to find them which isn't hard since the link is right up top labeled Xisto Read Me. So look before you leap and of course asking other members isn't that hard either and they would point you to the same link that I just pointed to you. Sprnknwn 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2007 Anyway, he doesn't mention anything about using php or server-based technology, so maybe he don't need a server to design his site and see it like it is before uploading to Xisto, quopis or somewhere else.So you could start designing it and meanwhile posting to get credits. You can even post asking for help on improving your template, banner, logo, etc. Is very common and people gently helps. I'm sure that you will soon have the necessary amount to ask for your account. Anyway the Quopis option seems really interesting, I haven't tested it because I already have the Xisto one but as a newbie here I would definitely check it. I also think that instructions (register, ask for domain, credits, forums...) may be overwhelming at first. Take it easy.
