GalginDa 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2006 The whole point of the discussions to take place in this forum was not to be bashing one group or another. Although that is what has happened. I personally would leave right now and join the armed forces, US Marines to be specific but I can't I am only 16 and have to wait another year or two. Do you not realize that these men signed up for this. They were not forced they were not made to join. They willing signed up and most of the service men and women in Iraq signed up after the Terrorist attacks wich were acts of war. This is true be cause it was an attack on a soverign nation. A nation that did nothing to deserve to have hundred and thousands of its people killed. I am proud to be american and one day I hope that I will have kids that will be able to say that they are proud to be americans because america is still around. If you stupid people quite being stupid and let the goverment do there job and let the soldiers do theres gave them support and tyhe money that is need to rebuild a nation that is now on the rise as a leading influencer in the middle east we could get out of the area much sooner. Instead you moan and complain that we are fighting. Sorry to tell you but in the history of the world peace has always followed war. So to get peace there has to be a war at some point. Sorry If I am making you mad. Look at Iran, In a couple of months they will have nuclear missles they will eventually find there way to america and then there will be major issues. They will make there way into Europe. And Isreal will be attacked. All of us are not inocent of everything, but no one not even those who were bombed in Japan deserve to die without the chance to fight. That is what happens to civilians in wars. It is unfair and rude but war is not clean clear and perfect. People that don't need to die die and those who deserve death don't die. This is a messed up world and throgh voting and in voicing our oppinions we can make a change. If there was never another war I would be happy. But that won't happen. War will end when this world ends. I hope I am not here when it happens. I am not afraid of death. If I die I want to die fighting for my country and what I believe in or at an old age after I have lived a good and fufilling life. God Bless America. thank you soldiers for doing what needs to be done. For putting your lives at risk for others. Athough you may not believe it you are doing a work that must be done. Thank you all for what you have done. And People always and I mean always remember those who died or were injured and those who lived through a war for what they have done for you. BooZker 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2006 (edited) The whole point of the discussions to take place in this forum was not to be bashing one group or another. Although that is what has happened. I personally would leave right now and join the armed forces, US Marines to be specific but I can't I am only 16 and have to wait another year or two. Do you not realize that these men signed up for this. They were not forced they were not made to join.Well depends on how you put this. SOME of them signed up to kill. Some signed up to be chefs or computer people for example. Then the *BLEEP* president runs out of people because they are all dying then sends the people who have only gone through boot camp over there. They willing signed up and most of the service men and women in Iraq signed up after the Terrorist attacks wich were acts of war. This is true be cause it was an attack on a soverign nation. A nation that did nothing to deserve to have hundred and thousands of its people killed.Nothing? Hmm thats interesting. What about one of the only countries that is powerful and still executes? Wait a minuet that's killing innocent people. WAIT A MINUET. What about the people in Iraq that accidentally got killed, like the thousands, they were innocent? So you tell me who is the innocent. I think a 16 year old has nothing to say in a subject matter such as war. What about a country who kicked a whole island of people of the island just so they could test missiles and then when the people didnt leave they tested them anyways and the people got infected from the bio waste.I am proud to be american and one day I hope that I will have kids that will be able to say that they are proud to be americans because america is still around. If you stupid people quite being stupid and let the goverment do there job and let the soldiers do theres gave them support and tyhe money that is need to rebuild a nation that is now on the rise as a leading influencer in the middle east we could get out of the area much sooner.Sorry to say that would not speed up the process, because the people of America cannot slow it down in the first place. How the hell are we slowing down the process? Good choice of words by the way. Stupid people quit being stupid? How about this, your working for a fast food restaurant and they are spitting in the food, would you let them do their job because the manager said it's ok if you spit on the food if the customers are being "stupid"? I wouldn't and hopefully you wouldn'. Just because someone says something is right or true, doesn't make it right or true. I think they taught me this in like 4th grade.Instead you moan and complain that we are fighting. Sorry to tell you but in the history of the world peace has always followed war. So to get peace there has to be a war at some point. Sorry If I am making you mad. What The *BLEEP*? No *BLEEP*. Peace is the opposite of war. So if i were to promote Peace would i go to the middle of the desert where there is no one or where they are people KILLING EACH OTHER. To get peace there has to be no war. I dont even know what the *BLEEP* your trying to say. If there was peace then we would not have to be talking about peace. We would not be protesting it. OK answer this. Would you be out protesting if there was no war? Would you go out there and protest that we should fight some random country like we did to Iraq? Look at Iran, In a couple of months they will have nuclear missles they will eventually find there way to america and then there will be major issues. They will make there way into Europe. And Isreal will be attacked. Seriously? You really truly believe this. Seriously? You really think that Iran would bomb America? They would be stopped like the Germans were twice. You think a country would put everything on the line like that after they saw the effects of it in the past in the world wars? You really think that? Grow up. Its a thing called propaganda. Look it up.All of us are not inocent of everything, but no one not even those who were bombed in Japan deserve to die without the chance to fight. That is what happens to civilians in wars. It is unfair and rude but war is not clean clear and perfect. People that don't need to die die and those who deserve death don't die. This is a messed up world and throgh voting and in voicing our oppinions we can make a change.Yah like voting in a President, with a bunch of errors on the voting machines, and a 51- 50 vote. In which that president now has what a 30% rating. The lowest ever in US history? I mean i don't even think those president ratings are right, but when he gets the absolute worse EVER then that's a small sign. So is the other sign that he is the only president to attack a country. The only president who lied like he did. We have never had a president lie to all our faces about weapons that were potentially dangerous to the ENTIRE world and then just like that, OOPS, none were found. We DO NOT NEED TO FIGHT! Yah it sounds like some hippy thing, but it has been done before. Black rights in America, but the main one that we should all look to isGhandi .He fought a war and won by not fighting. If let's just say hypothetically, all of America was not going to fight and murder then just like Ghandi the attackers army would only be able to go up and kill so many people before they feel bad. It takes a lot of evil to go up to people who are just sitting there and kill them. Could you? Honestly, if there was a family and you were in the US army and your captain said you have to kill them, and they are just sitting there looking at you straight in the eyes, could you kill them? If so how many? Millions? don't think so. If you could your evil. No one can just kill people who are not attacking them and not showing any violence towards you. It's up to us not to promote violence and killing people to show who is "boss" but to show who is the boss, by saying, you know what? Fighting is what 13 year old kids do. I'm a 20-30 year old man/women. What is the need to kill people? If there was never another war I would be happy. But that won't happen. War will end when this world ends. I hope I am not here when it happens. I am not afraid of death. If I die I want to die fighting for my country and what I believe in or at an old age after I have lived a good and fufilling life.OK make up your mind. You say you don't like war, but hey, it's there so i might as well. If you didnt like the taste of beer, but HEY it's there i guess i'll drink it would you? No, well maybe depends on your IQ. War will never end with people like you who think killing people is heroic. I DO NOT think that if i were to kill people i would have fulfilled my life. I think i would have taken that dream from the people i killed, because well you have no reason other then, It's war and there will always be war. I would rather die standing in the street run over by a tank then standing there killing people. What ever floats your boat.God Bless America. thank you soldiers for doing what needs to be done. For putting your lives at risk for others. Athough you may not believe it you are doing a work that must be done. Thank you all for what you have done.God bless of course. Don't forget that! God loves it when you kill people... Edited December 8, 2006 by BooZker (see edit history)
GalginDa 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2006 \Seriously? You really truly believe this. Seriously? You really think that Iran would bomb America? They would be stopped like the Germans were twice. You think a country would put everything on the line like that after they saw the effects of it in the past in the world wars? You really think that? Grow up. Its a thing called propaganda. Look it up. The Iranies would not be the ones using the weapon. It would be a bunch of terrorist that they support. But yes they would use the nuclear weapons to either bully Isreal or attack it. That would be as bad as attacking americans because they live there and that they are our alies.
BooZker 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2006 They have been attacking them forever. What's new? It is not our problem and we should not get involved in a relgious war. Even if the president says God speaks to him. You probably think i'm some *BLEEP* because i wouldnt want to help another country, but George Washington once said, It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign worldThis is because, if you want America to last you need to upkeep the counrtry. Figure out what is best for it's citizens. So far i do not see this. We do not have health insurance, we have some of the worst schools in the world, and many more. Yes, we have a lot of money, but we try to impress other countries with it and so we lose all the attention we are supposed to get from the goverment because they are spending all this time with countried like Iraq. SportsLegends 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2006 I think that a vast majority of Americans are indeed supporting our troops. Consider the members of the ONE extreme Baptist Church (I am stressing that it is just one, as many of my good friends are Baptist, and in no way support the views of these lunatics) that protests at the funerals of former American service men and women. These people are greatly hated by both Democrats and Republicans because they are not supporting our troops. You can be pro-war or anti-war and still be patriotic- but if you are anti-troops, then you are indeed unpatriotic and do not deserve to live in this great country. The great majority of Americans are supporting our troops, to varying levels of enthusiasm- if you actually dislike our troops, then you are viewed as unpatriotic, and justifiably so. That is one of the best ways I have ever heard something like that put. I believe you hit the nail right on the head. Supporting Your troops, has nothing to do with believing in the war or in what they are doing or why. It is that these men and women were order by congress and the president to do what they are doing. Whether they think what they are doing is good or not they are still doing it. They are the ones who deserve the support of our nation. They selflessly lay their lives down that we may live.Freedom is not free and it is not a right. It is a privalge that we here in America take for granted because we have had Freedom for so long. It is true that some of our freedoms are being reduced because of the threat of attacks by terrorists on American soil. I belive that if you aren't doing anything wrong why shoul you care if someone is viewing your emails or phone conversations. They aren't looked at by people till you come under question because you say something that the computers catch. So unless you are planning to do something stupid like attack America I wouldn't worry or care that some computer in some building is looking at my phone records. The cost of freedom had been payed in blood. The blood of our fathers , brothers, sisters and mothers and all those service men and women who have served be for this time. there sacrifice that gives us freedom to say we want to when we want to when we want to. There sacrafice fives us the freedoms that we all enjoy today. Thank You for your comment and your patriotism. You cannot change your answer now.Freedom is not free and it is not a right. It is a privalge that we here in America take for granted because we have had Freedom for so long. It is true that some of our freedoms are being reduced because of the threat of attacks by terrorists on American soil. This is such BS. What freedom? Yah i mean we can say the "F" word in public, well not actually, as long as you dont offend anyone. You also cant say anything racial. You could get jail time for that. And I wouldnt bother trying to sell any alcohol without permission and a license from the government. Also if you dont like something i wouldnt go protesting unless you protest in only the places they tell you, which is usually a great distance away from the whole reason why they are protesting. Did you know you can actually get a ticket for flipping someone off if you roll the window down and stick you hand out and put up the middle finger. And god forbid you ever tell a police officer that you dont agree with him. Your right though. The freedom we have was given to us, but i expect more. The more i am talking about wont come from a fight with some random country, it will come from a fight with the government. It would be an amazing and great thing if all the soldiers said No, but they wont because most of them are the same. Just like most of the people that protest are the same. When was the last time you saw some wealthy doctor out protesting. Not often. Or how about when was the last time you saw someone apply for the army with raggy clothes, long hair, and a skateboard in there hand. There are certain people that will do certain things. Just like i almost never say racial jokes, just because i dont like them and i think they are dumb. Not ALL black people dont work, not ALL gay people want to be decorators. But the uneducated people will because they just dont know any better and they never will. It's stupid. I do not know you, and i dont think anyone on this forum has met you correct? Why dont you tell us how big your penis is or your bra size? Why not? It doesn't really matter right? If you would tell us, would you tell someone on the street just randomly asking? Would some random person saying hey who was the last person you called and what did you talk about, would you tell them? If you really truly dont care, I want you to send me every phone number you have called along with every instant messanger and email sent and received. Problem with that? You shouldnt. Here is the difference. If I sent you all that infomation who knows where it would end up. The information the goverment is collecting is read and store by computers, the only time that informations is ever viewed by a real live person is when certian trip words are used. Like bomb, or terrorism, or if you use a threat that the computer can read. Then it goes into a file that is viewed by one or two people and if there is nothing behind it, it gets locked up in some vault never to be seen again unless that person continues to make comments like it or they are involved in some sort of crime. Can I ask you, do you like school, do you like the fact that you can get an education, the fact that you can work a job make money and spend it any way you like. The fact that you can marry anyone you chose. Do you like the fact that you can own your own property, you own home, car, and stuff. Other nations that is not so, yet you want more freedoms. Freedom ain't free. Back in 1776 those soldiers laid there lives on the line so that we could have a nation. In the intrest of keeping that nation alive still today, laws have been made things have been done so that we can live with as much freedom as anyone on this planet and still be safe and live the greatest life there is to live. In America we are safer that anyone in the world, we are protected by a police force, do they make mistakes, yes, Rodney King case, we have a military that protects us. Do they make mistakes yes. But look at our military record and compair it to Russia, the former Soviet Union, to Japan who ruthlessly murdered over 18 million chinese in world war two. Look at Germany, They did everything in there power to extermanate the jews with the genocide. And you think our soldiers are bad because now and then a stray bullet kills some kid in a war zone. War sucks, if there were to never be another war again i would be the happiest man alive. But If we do not do what needs to be done. If we do not stop others from attacking us by keeping a large standing military then we will be exterminated like the jews almost were, like the Japenese tried to do to the Chinese. You think our military is so bad look at other nations, compare us to them see what the rest of the world is like. Not every where can you say what you want without ending up dead and having your family killed. So thank you troops, you are doing a great job, and you need not listen to those who don't realize the importance of what you do for they know not what sacrafice is. Please prove to me somehow you know they would never use this information for money making purposes. You do know you live in America. That is a capitalistic system. Be careful what you think the government shares and does not share. By the way, where do you even come up with how the government organizes there files? Prove this also please. Can I ask you, do you like school, do you like the fact that you can get an education...ha ha funny. OK enough with the jokes. First off our schools are not free and very costly compared to other 1st world countries. Here read this:In a 2003 study conducted by UNICEF that took the averages from five different international education studies, the researchers ranked the United States No. 18 out of 24 nations in terms of the relative effectiveness of its educational system.Another prominent 2003 study, the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study, shows a steady decline in the performance of American students from grades 4 to 12 in comparison to their peers in other countries. In both studies, Finland, Australia, Belgium, Austria, Hungary, Netherlands and the United Kingdom beat the United States, while the Asian nations of South Korea, Japan and Singapore ranked first through third, respectively. or go here http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and look it up on the internet if you dont believe me. Or why dont you ask Oregon about how their schools are getting rid of all the music and sports because they have no money. The fact that you can marry anyone you chose. This has to be another one of your outstanding jokes. Anyone, except if i were a homosexual. The president actually wanted to make that illegal. And it should be! I mean two guys or two girls kissing is evil... What a bunch of ridiculous crap. By the way i was being sarcastic about how evil homosexuals are. I am, and always will be, 100% pro gay.Freedom ain't free. Back in 1776 those soldiers laid there lives on the line so that we could have a nation. In the intrest of keeping that nation alive still today, laws have been made things have been done so that we can live with as much freedom as anyone on this planet and still be safe and live the greatest life there is to live.True in 1776 those soldiers laid their lives on the line for a country, that was already owned and inhabited with Indians which they brutally slaughtered. But sure, if you want to look at it as they came here and only defended themselves go ahead and tell your self that lie over and over again. You can also say i should get over it that was so long ago and we aren't like that anymore. That's also true and i am over it, but you CAN NOT say that they came here to fight off the bad guys not letting them have freedom. Because after we did that we killed all the Indians because we wanted the land so we could be free, but Indians! they dont deserve freedom and dont really count...also a sarcastic response. In America we are safer that anyone in the world, we are protected by a police force, do they make mistakes, yes, Rodney King case...A police force that makes... mistakes... thats it, mistakes?! How about the mistake of them shooting a black guy about 40 times and he had no weapon on him at all just recently. Or also within a week of that the cops killed a 15-16 year old kid threating to kill HIMSELF and when he went to hurt HIMSELF they shot him over and over again. These are not mistakes. You can shoot someone 40+ times. think about that. 40 times! boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, reload, boom, ect If you do not believe me i can get proof. Even proof from the Colbert Report of him personally attacking the police force. My Dad, a fireman even says all the time how brutal the police are in Portland, OR. He said they would just beat people up for bad mouthing them. You also have to remember my dad is not a liberal person at all either.we have a military that protects us. Do they make mistakes yes. But look at our military record and compair it to Russia, the former Soviet Union, to Japan who ruthlessly murdered over 18 million chinese in world war two. Look at Germany, They did everything in there power to extermanate the jews with the genocide. And your point is? So here is something for you to think about. If there was a kid beating other kids up all the time and then you decided to beat up a kid does it make it right because the other kid did it? Would it be fair for you or your parents to say,"Well, as you know there are other kids beating kids up, so it's OK." Why dont you mention countries like Canada, or Australia? Why not? Because they are not ruthless *BLEEP*s. Just because you have money and power doesnt mean you have to use those to kill people. And you think our soldiers are bad because now and then a stray bullet kills some kid in a war zone. War sucks, if there were to never be another war again i would be the happiest man alive. But If we do not do what needs to be done. You think our military is so bad look at other nations, compare us to them see what the rest of the world is like. Not every where can you say what you want without ending up dead and having your family killed. You really dont get the point do you. You just can not grasp this. OK, i'll explain. We do not HAVE to go to war. We CHOOSE to go to war. Attacking someone has nothing to do with the USA's defense. Such as in Iraq. They were no threat to us at all. No WMD or anything. You also can not say we are for peace and then go shoot some people. Imagine this, no one enrolls in the army starting today. Would we declare war on anyone? No because we have no one to send. Would other countries attack? No, because we all can carry weapons and other countries are there to help when in DEFENSE. So when someone attacks us we do what Ghandi did, but i doubt that would ever happen because people are so ignorant and believe fighting is the only answer. You know MLK and Ghandi got there way without hurting anyone correct? So it is possible, but you and others are blind and can't see this.
jhsmurray 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2006 A couple of days ago I heard that the US had lost as many troops in Iraq as casualties in the initial Sept. 11th attack. I consider the effort in that part of the world as completely demoralized at this point. But I dont blame the troops for it. Â We should of course support the troops of our respective nations while understanding and questioning the real policy makers. Many of the troops in Iraq are people who are simply using the job as a means to get by, not because they have particularly strong convictions one way or the other. I was considering getting a job as a truck driver over in that area because the pay was so good. I thought better of it later. I once asked a friend of mine how he felt about having to go back to Iraq. He said he couldn't wait, because the rest of his unit was still there. That is an incredible amount of loyalty, don't you think? I respect our troops enough to say that their profound sacrifice should not be wasted on this ridiculous cleanup effort. Â The criticism mainly lies with American foreign policy. One of these "interests" of the US is to promote a stable democracy in a situation where the US picked up a proverbial "hot frying pan" with "no place to put it down afterwards". The situation requires more training and more heavily armored equipment than is currently provided. We're not even giving them all the required tools to get the job done, whatever that is. Â Not surprisingly, last I checked Bush is losing poplarity: As Congress prepares for leadership changes in January, Bush is struggling in the ratings. Currently just 31% approve of the job he is doing, down from 34% last month. This is the second lowest job performance score reported by Harris Interactive? (the lowest was in May, 2006 at 29% positive). I think we really need to have credible, solid "intelligence" on what would happen if the US pulled out now. No more "spooky house" crap. That's what started the whole problem in the first place. And then we need to find a leader who wont be so cavalier with other people's lives. Â Just one person's opinion. <?me?> 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2007 Saddam Hussein never attacked or threatened America. He did order his troops to attack an ethnic minority and kill them, but now American troops are killing the civilians, the women and children of Iraq. In my view this is exactly what Saddam Hussein did; And he got hanged for it!!!P.S. I'm not saying I support Saddam Hussein but I feel that the bad things he did are comparable to the things George Bush did.
