Ddos Is Equal Atack Hacker Via Dos Operation System?

Recommended Posts

This post shouldn't be in what is...

But I will answer none the less. A DDOS attack is a distributed denial of service attack. Not an attack through DOS, and this would be nearly imposable; DOS doesn't have the best network/internet ability (If it even has it at all). A denial of service attack is designed to deny service to a computer buy overloading its connection. When you make it distributed, you are making a bunch of computers attack one computer thus rendering it useless. This is done by "dropping" bad packets onto the internet in the direction of a computer. By definition the computer will respond, or else not respond as the firewall settings do. Either way this action will require some time on the part of your computer. If you can send enough bad packets at one IP address you can make it stop responding, or remove its ability to access the internet.

Here is a site which goes into detail:

EDIT: I see there is also a topic regarding this, here http://forums.xisto.com/topic/37204-what-is-ddos/
