moldboy 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2006 Hey, I just finished the new dessign for my site, and I kinda want some constructive feedback. Olaf 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2006 I like your other version better. What you show here has just plain rectangles as buttons, but when I click the d-gression link, it goes to another version, whick I assume is your older version. It seems that the older one goes better with your banner than this new one. Prehaps if you changed you main banner, it would fit together a little better, to me at least. Tyssen 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2006 You need to put the border on #menu a as well to avoid the jitter when you hover over the links (unless that's the effect you were going for).
AlanDS 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2006 I think you should change the colour combination. Use some light colours. Dark Green doesn't seems to be good.

Prehaps if you changed you main banner, it would fit together a little better, to me at least.Yes, the link is the older version, I do kinda like to buttons, the problem with them is two fold, 1, they are hard to add/subtract from should I want to add something new. 2, If this list gets two long the perspective from the camera would make the colom cure off the the left, which I celieve is already a little apparent. You need to put the border on #menu a as well to avoid the jitter when you hover over the links (unless that's the effect you were going for).Yeah I was trying something there, and just didn't fix it before I posted it online, perhapse I should do that. And I'll look into diffrent colors. Also If anyone knows CSS does anybody know how to make the menu centered on IE, like it is on FF, and Opera
Inspiron 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2006 I've visited both your demo and current active sites. As for the demo site, there's alot needed to be done. Of course in comparison, your active site is alot better.Like what others say, the color combination doesn't match. Maybe if you like green, then you would mix it with black to give it a more IT style or something like the matrix. The green color should also be brighter, more to lime color. Dark green just cannot fit your page with black background. As for the banner, you may like to add some glowing effects to the text on the keys. That will enchance the overall look to the page. Remember whatever colors you choose must follow your site theme. A good page does not have more than 4 colors in the theme. For this rule, you have done well in the demo page as I can see that there's about 3 shades of green. For the content, I would say the alignment gives a big problem. Why is the title text so big? Why is the title's left alignment not the same as the content text alignment? There's a suggestion that you can follow. The title font size should only be 2px more than the content text font size. For example if your content text font size is 12px, your title should be 14px. Anything bigger does not make your site look professional. As for the content, there should be a little gap from the left green vertical divider. The content text should also follow the same left alignment as the title text. Remember to justify your text as it looks neater. For these alignment matters, it's better to use CSS margins and paddings as it will be pretty accurate to manage the content area of the page layout.Likewise for the left navigation text, there should also be a little gap from the left divider. The mouseover color change of the background looks perfect however the text looked weird somehow. Try bold all navigation text as it will prioritise the overall text layout. If you have any CSS problems, feel free to ask it here. We'll be glad to help..Have fun modifying your site. agentblade 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2006 Gentle reminder to your current site.. Don't leave it as "Untitled" =POther than that.. I feel if you shift the alignment slightly downwards a little would be nice.. so as to give a nice centralized feel to it..I like the d-gression heading btw.. moldboy 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2006 I like the d-gression heading btw.. Thank you. That reminds me, I've been thinking. I have build a diffrent heading, it is exacly the same but a diffrent style. It can be seen here. I know some people say the banner doesn't fit the style of the site, how about if this one was used instead.

Paul 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2006 Wow too dark. Lighten it up. The menu is a bit jumpy - when you mouse over they all move. You could add some padding to the menu items on the left. The padding will ensure that even after the underline, the height of the menu remains the same. You could make the colours a little more interesting and appealing... Its a nice simple design! Good Job.
