New Hd Help... i set the jumpers and everything

Recommended Posts

I'm assuming this is your secondary hard drive. You must be more specific when you post your issues.Your operating system does not find your newly installed hard drive under "My Computer" because it's not formatted yet. See? ^_^To format the right way (fresh installed blank hard drive) access yourAdministrative tools > Computer management > Storage > Disk Management and right click on the new drive (it should be DISK 1) and select format.Or you can follow the manufacture supplied new hard drive installation disk and complete the process.

Hi punkgamr13,All the previous posts have good advice. Do those things first.Just a technical note: some HDs (not all) don't "play nice" when you use the Windows utilitys to format them. I always recommend that you format & setup your new HDs using the manufacturesr setup utility disc when its available.Post back if you need more help.Good luckRGPHNX
