dnateam 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2005 Microsoft has released its new community technology preview [CTP] codenamed Acrylic. It is currently a 80mb download which will expire after dec 31 2005 or when the software is released for sale. The user interface is clutter free and help is satisfactory, except that there is no formal help.Tool wise you get lasso, magic wand, blur/smudge/sharpen and many other tools. The biggest advantage with acrylic is that it provides a hybrid enviroment for vector and pixel based graphics. It supports plenty of formats such as AI, PSD, EPS, HTML, XAML.But it offers only XPR option for saving. For: Free hybrid enviroment for vector and pixel based graphics.Against: Slow response time, no scroll bars, no CMYK output and lacks many advanced functions.Try it out post your own comments. ameribass 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2005 I agree with machinamedia, but how much would you like to bet that Microsoft will sell a lot of this product. They've done so in the past and will continue to do so now. I mean, why should they stop. They're making money and that's the most important thing to them. Oh well, let's hope that things will start to change once Windows Vista comes out.
iivosevic 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2005 I agree to with machinamedia, it's just one more pathetic step of Microsoft. Only thing that guys from MS are trying to do is to get more money like ameribass said, and unfortunatelly they don't pay any attention on quality of their products...
