must point out that C++ is not VisualC++.Visual C++ is a commercial product(include IDE and compiler). There is also FREE compilers and IDEs。So C++ doesn't need to be expensive. As it is hard or not, it depends you.

choose free rapid development in borland c++builder (there is a free personal version), if you on't want to make a year of "Hello world", api, handles, and such.greetz.

Heres the official site to it.  I've tried it... It's kind of hard to use and its also very expensive.

C++ is a programming language...so its neither expensive nor cheap....its 'priceless'....
You don't have to buy C++, neither can you sell C++.

But, if you are talking about a compiler, that is a different thing. Basically, a compiler is a program that consolodates the source code. To write the source code, you can use any text editing program, such as Notepad but you have to save it in a .cpp file extension.

compiler (like gcc, which is the best cpp compiler for me) is a thing that changes programmers language (c++, pascal, basic) to machine language (010101 B)) and makes the executable native to its operating system (so PE in windows).I din't learn parsing techiques so i don't have any more knowledge about compilers B)greetz.

In fact, you can "buy" c++. I mean the C++ Stantard Document. It costs 10$(not very sure). The best IDE I think as follow. If you develop c++ program under windows, I prefer Visual C++ and Dev-Cpp.If under Linux, I prefer Anjuta and Eclipse(with CDT).
