unfortunate 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2005 Personally I used http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ for awhile. They insert a small Google adsense ad in your column but I didn't mind. It was powered by Wordpress so it was the easiest choice for me.
Ao)K-General 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2005 I still think blogs are sorta useless.
twentyinches631 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2005 I used to really hate blogs, all of those stupid sites such as Livejournal or Blogger where a bunch of teenage girls (and unfortunately guys) use horrible grammar, l33t sp33k, cAmElCaPs etc to talk about absolutely nothing. But I've come to realize the software can be a really good way to manage content for a site, especially when more than one person is updating it. I started checking out more "content management" oriented systems, and they are really useful. I know movabletype is really good, and there are a few others. You can really customize them, and integrate them into your existing site pretty easy.I don't however like all those carbon copy sites that use PHP Nuke etc. If you really do want to "blog" like an online journal, with no focus then a free site like blogger would probably suit you just fine. Otherwise run your own site.
Phyre 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2005 I too find it annoying when people rant about random things in 1337 or cAmElCaPs...you spend all that time trying to find out what they're saying, and it ends up on being something stupid. Â Here's some free online blog sites: http://xanga.com/ http://www.livejournal.com/?page=0&nojs=1 https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogin?service=blogger&passive=1209600&continue=http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/=http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Â And here's two blogs that you can install on your site: https://wordpress.org/ http://rcsoft.co.nr/
Anndi 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2005 I've tried blogging so many times in the past and it just hasn't worked out for me. Partly because I've never found a blog that I actually really like. And partly because I don't have much time for blogging. So I guess I can't really help you, sorry!

I started checking out more "content management" oriented systems, and they are really useful. I've just set up my site on Xisto with Wordpress for that exact reason. I'm building a site for my local community association and the idea is that other people will be able to update it too and Wordpress is perfect for that sort of thing - people can create, edit & delete posts but don't need to know anything about coding etc.
thebluekirby 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2005 I have a blog on Xanga: http://xanga.com/ but i barely post in it. It's no one's business to see what's going on in my personal life. Especially online. That's why I'd rather have a journal. But hey, an Xanga is fun to personalize ^__^
Shoobi 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2005 What are the point of blogs? I meen all you do is write stuff. And what is the point of it when no one views it. Than it has like no point at all. It is like, well, um, I dunno but it is pretty much point less right? I think it is. So why do we have em? I think its just so someone can go up to someone else and say "I got a website and you don't" just to tick them off and make em jealous. Thats what I think. lol. 141594[/snapback] Well i read Tatatee's blog and the thing about the Turkey person on skype really made me actually laugh out loud.
