eX_Raven_ 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2005 (edited) Recently well surfing, I was infected with a program that secretly downloaded itself called DAO Search. It started to generate many popups, messing up some programs, and changed all common words on every webpage into search links (even if they were links already.) And it would replace Domain Names with IP addresses. It Hijacked Internet Explorer and Netscape. And everytime it is removed it will re-download itself. If You Come accross this you will have to run an Anti-Spyware Program and clean it and its registry keys, then search your computer for DAO, a Dll file should appear, you will have to delete it. (It should appear in the Common Files folder in your Program Files folder.)If all else fails then consult Professional Help. But Please try and Avoide it.Here are the addresses to stay away from (Please Do Not Click these Links) http://daosearch.com/index.php?id=186 (The ID Number Will Most Likely be Different for each of you.)http://213.159.117.134/index.php Notice from snlildude87: Put the links in BBCode boxes, so everyone won't be tempted. snlildude87 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2005 When installing it, did you read the End User License Agreement (EULA)? Because when I installed KaZaA, I decided to stop and read it because someone came to my school and told us (he said it would be pretty interesting), and also, someone actually got real money because he read it.Anyway, as I was reading the EULA, I found some pretty interesting stuff that came with KaZaA, so I deleted the install application from my computer and got myself a better peer-to-peer application.
