Hi mahesh2k,Im assuming you don't want to rely on Window's "System Restore" feature.Me neither :lol:If you want easy to use windows platform imaging software get.."TrueImage" by Acronis. If you want a configuration challenge get .."Ghost" by Norton. (a warning .. DONT even think about trying to get a illegal copy of this program off the net as most of them have major virus's attached which will wipe your HD).You can check out other data recovery software on my website "links" page.Hope this helpsRGPHNX PS- If you have a particular hard to solve problem.. just PM me..glad to help.

I use 2 partitions, d:\ containing the profile and my documentsc:\ contains the OS. When I reinstall the OS I just have to point out the profile and my documents to the folders on d:\. This is a basic work around. About software, Id recommend Norton Ghost. So far I had no problems with it.

Norton Ghost 9.0 Bootable
Here is the official link from Norton's website http://us.norton.com/

and Acronis True Image v8.0
Here is the official link from Acronis's website
http://www.acronis.com/de-de/

To compare these two , at a glance , I will choose Norton Ghost 9.0 Bootable .
Because I was using Norton Ghost 9.0 Enterprise for a real long time which is
really stable , better than others .

One day in my office , my colleague Andy brought the Disc which he bought one day before , Acronis True Image v8.0 Enterprise Edition . I was facing some problems with my laptop at that time , and it's been half process for my fresh operating system installation . I waited to finish it and then tried Andy's CD .

My laptop is the ASUS Z71V with SATA laptop HDD . Acronis Tru Image v8.0 Enterprise took about 4 mins to make a 2GB backup image file . It's impressive .
8 mins is the regular time for Norton Ghost 8.0 .....

Since then , I started to get used to Acronis .
