(Technical answer)Which files or How many files are replaced/modified from explorer.exe ?Is it harmfull?How to recover older explorer.exe if shell replacement programme crashes?Windows theme option's title bar can be replaced in shell replacement or not. usually many shell progs don't support.? dontmaimyourself 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2005 I have just wrote a tutorial on this subject, mianly focusing on how to change the shell, however it has not been accepted yet but please keep trying it, It does not answer these questions, so I will answer them now for you (I have only been doing this for a few months so please forgive me if some information is incorrect or incomplete):which files are modified/replaced from explorer?As far as I can tell explorer.exe is not modified at all just replaced, as the new shell is a seperate entity from explorer.How to recover old explorer.exe versions?This is answered above, as explorer.exe is not modified all you have to do to recover it is re-set it as the shell.I hope you have found this usefull, however for more indepth information plese visit Shell-Shocked Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
