how to get through the school firewall?simple, type in the site you want into the google search, hopefully it finds it on the searches... now once its found it dont click the main site, click the cached link and it should work just fine and you should be able to view the site and post...works just fine for me

Man, that sucks! I don't see anything wrong with "bulletin boards" at all, but it seems that school has a really strict firewall. I had the same problem, but then I used a proxy and everything's okay now.

I remember the days back at my high school (long time ago) we used to be able to go to some "safe" (non violent) game websites, like candystand.com. But then someone got around the filters one day to go to a pornographic website and the techies went nuts. We weren't allowed to do anything, and it was really really lame. But I suppose the best way to cope with it is to obey it. The only good thing that will come out of trying to beat the system is temporary gratification. You will be distracted from your schoolwork, you'll get in trouble (if your school has a competent IT department), and the dominos may start to fall and a lot of bad things can happen to you that will stay with you for a long time.Besides, school days are relatively short. Wait until you get home. That's my advice.

I have some advice for you guys who want to avoid school network policies. I learned that schools record everything you do on the computer. So I recommend you don't mess around with any settings. Other than that have fun posting.

There must be a good reason why the site you want to visit is blocked. And the only way to bypass all firewall is knowing how to disable it. And only administrators should disable the firewall otherwise you are ?hacking? your school?s computer. Are you a h4ck3r?

 

If it?s that important to you to access this site from your school, ask your school?s administrator to let you access that page. Otherwise you may be exploiting your school?s resources so wait until you get home and use your personal computer.

I briefly ran into a problem signing into the Xisto forums as well from one of my school's computers. I had to use an anonymous proxy since then. Thankfully, the problem was short-lived even though I didn't say anything to the admin. (It took less than a week.)

Our school is the same, they block every website except something like CBeebies If I try to any thing on the internet at school, it blocks it! I haven't tried going on trap in school, I'll have to try it and report back!

School computer system have issued a new REQUIRMENT for all USA schools in 2004. It states that all computers must have a logger of everything the student does. Every site, application, every single word typed. Recently, upgrades were made so that the PC would be slow BUT fast enough. Basically, it's your every day Keylogger and random students are checked periodically to make sure no improper sites or applications are used. So you see, it's the new age of spying on our children. Sort of ruins the whole "freedom" of speech when every word a kid writes and everything he looks at  is being watched.. Funny thing is, they are told this but no one listens

I never knew something like this was in place. I'm not American, so it doesn't surprise me that I haven't heard of it, but seeing as I watch American news sometimes, I figured I might have heard about it.

 

That such a horrible way to take away a child's freedom and privacy. Things like that shouldn't be allowed. I remember when I was in high school, they had the site blockers in our computers... we couldn't get into hardly any sites. I remember having to do a project on Neo Nazis and do you think I could get into any sites on that subject? Yea, right... okay.

yea at my high school im a freeshman now yay me but in our school they block absolutly everything they even blocked the site where the teachers put in our grades so there was a law suit the my school can now NEVER block a site again and best of all they can't check on us freakin sweet so we do basicly everything but theres one rule no downloading thats the only rule in our school but we are able to download images and thats it.--MechVegitaan unstopable saiyan prince--

u guys have it lucky at your schools,our school doesn't have the internet!!!! all we can do is like type up essays and theres even a password that the teacher needs to type in so u can print!!! consider yourselfs lucky compared to my school.....but there is a really wierd thing my school has a website but we can't go on internet i just don't get it
