iGuest 3 Report post Posted February 24, 2005 Heey, I got a question : Recently i've been making music remixes from known games. I may have made it, but I give the copyright of my remix to the original composer (the company that made the game). Is it then still against the rules of putting MP3 on your site, even if you made it yourself  ? I can put a sort of ReadMe file if it has to...
iGuest 3 Report post Posted February 24, 2005 If it's copyrighted material that belongs to someone else it's against TOS. I think you would have to have there written permission other wise. Also if you got that permission it would have to be displayed some where in clear view on your site
iGuest 3 Report post Posted February 24, 2005 When the game mp3 was not yet remixed by me, it wasnt copyrighted. I just taught it would be fair to give them the credit .

iGuest 3 Report post Posted February 24, 2005 wtf??? what if its of my band that i own the copyrights for???
iGuest 3 Report post Posted February 24, 2005 If its your own band, or you can provide the proper documentation of copyright permission from the band/group then you can have them on your website. Putting other members band's music on your site is probably more risky and a lot of work to have them put up on your site. I would just put your own band's stuff on there or something that you have made. 8)
iGuest 3 Report post Posted February 24, 2005 MP3 that are 100% your own are allowed.MP3 that even have the smallest bits of data from someone else's work are not allowed.Just to let everyone know - I'm in the process of updating that list random has quoted from.In answer to the first post. You are not allowed to upload those MP3's. The original work is not your own.Haz

iGuest 3 Report post Posted February 25, 2005 Its this guy who makes music like an old console game background music. And by the way, you should be more polite. I wouldn't expect such language or bad attitude from a moderator. But that is by-the-by the music is fun and cool... and well worth a listen.
