iGuest 3 Report post Posted February 15, 2005 I am looking around for a 3D-program preferably one of good quality. I've tried the demo for Cinema 4D and Maya PLE. I was wondering if a) anyone had advice on what to look for and if anyone knows if there is any sort of demo version of Lightwave availible.

iGuest 3 Report post Posted February 16, 2005 In my oppinion Maya and Softimage 3d and Light wave are the most powerful 3d software in the world you can check their web site at:https://www.wavefront.com/ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
iGuest 3 Report post Posted February 19, 2005 You can always try Blender3D. It's open source, but VERY powerful. It also lets you import and export to many formats. As for the lightwave demo, according to this page here, http://www.newtek.com/ you have to contact Newtek for the lightwave demo. Or you can go here http://www.newtek.com/ and order one from the guys at Siggraph (but i think it's only for people who attended last year's conference, you can try anway though). If you find a place to download the demo please share the info amongst the rest of us.

iGuest 3 Report post Posted March 3, 2005 i think every 3d model tool has its pro and cons, an also may be use in different areas.3d studio max its use in almost everything, poser for body modeling and lightwave for enviroment 3d modeling . so you may find differents things from one to one. iGuest 3 Report post Posted March 6, 2005 Try Bryce 5 Its pretty sweet. It's made for landscaping but you can make some sweet abstracts with it which are great for signatures, banners, etc.

It's made for landscaping but you can make some sweet abstracts with it which are great for signatures, banners, etc.I have Bryce. It has no modeling capabilities whatsoever, and Terragen is much better and freer for landscape.
