Dune was made into a movie starring Kyle MacLachlan and directed by the fantastic David Lynch (who you might know from Twin Peaks fame or more recently Mulholland Dr. he also brought you The Elephant Man) But yes he made a successful version of Dune whose original novel author died 19 yrs ago today its sad.
