By Garnett Lee Microsoft Game Studios and Ensemble Studios today announced that Age of Empires will make its third appearance on PC's later this year. The new game continues the historical timeline of the series. It picks up where Age of Empires II: Ago of Kings left off with the player taking charge of a European nation ready to explore the New World of North America. In addition to the expected new units and structures the change in scenery offers unique opportunities. It should be interesting to see Ensemble Studios' skill with creating rich, detailed environments applied to Native Americans as well as Industrial Age units.
