PS2 Hard Drive

:?: Okay I want to get a hard drive for my ps2 but i dont want to get the one with final fantisy and thats the only on i can find so is it posible to use a hard drive that would normaly go into your computer and put it in the ps2 instead? And would i have to put it on my computer to formate it first?And also.....Can someone tell me what feauters come with the Hard Drive for ps2 :?:

As for the hard drive, most of them will work. Check out http://ps2drives.x-pec.com/?p=list for the hard drive compatibility database....
If you want to format/load ISOs/extract images from your PS2 hard drive, Winhiip (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/) works great.
However, to actually use the hard drive, you will need:
1. A *good* modchip (matrix infinity, DMS4, etc) that can boot aplications.
OR
2. HD Loader (http://www.hdloader.net/)/HD Advance.
They pretty much let you play games from the hard drive instead from the disc, so loading times are better and there is no need to switch discs. The aplication formats the hard drive, and loads/copy games into it.
However, it does *not* let you use the Hard Drive as a memory card. :cry:

I'm pretty sure Sony only sells its HD with Final Fantasy XI. If they had any sense they'd sell it separately. :roll:
