Computers 2

Recommended Posts

I bought parts to build a PC, but the MB turned out bad, so I returned it because I didn't like the brand much (ECS). Anyone have any suggestions on a good MB that is not too expensive? I'd like it to have at least 6 USB 2.0 ports, AGP 8x, and SATA for future upgradeability. Any suggestions? Btw, the CPU is an AMD Sempron 2600+ . Thanks.

I had built my own pc for twice. And now i prepare for another new one.

Athon 1600+
128 DDR Ram* 3
40Gb Seagate HD
80GB seagate HD
52* CD Rom
ATi 7500
and other annex.

It's cheaper ! Just about 600 $. And it's powerful for the common 3D games and office work.

Who has build their own pc? :D I did this are the specs:
Intel Pentium 4 : 3.0 Ghz
1024 DDR Ram
200 GB Seagate HD
180 GB Seagate HD
Liteon DVD Burner
DVD Player
Ati Radeon 9800 XT 128mb
8x USB 2.0
3x Firewire
Build in 6 in 1 cardreader
USB Floppydisk :D

That's about all... :D

Oh yeah It's running on Windows XP SP2 Mayb in a few days Windows Longhorn BETA :D

I also thought about Over clocking... But I don't think that's a really good idea.. Any opinions about Overclocking??

You're right, it's not a good idea. Right now, you're system is so powerful it doesn't need to be overclocked. Besides, with how manufacturers are pushing their products these days, you just might ruin it faster. You would also get errors and such. Better not to overclock.

I've "built" a few for myself. The latest one is:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ skt 754
giga-byte GA-K8NS pro
1024 MB Kingston ram DDR400
80GB Seagate SATA hard drive
HIS Excalibur Radeon 9600XT 256MB
X-blade Case http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ (the silver one)
Lite on DVD rom
Lite on CD-RW
floppy drive...
ohh and i changed a fan so i had some red in the case...not just blue

Running a dual boot of WinXP PRO SP2 and Linux Red Hat (fedora core 3)

Thats bout all i can think of.... ohh and i have an old tandy 1000 that still runs maybe ill take some pics sometime and post em on here .
