I use firefox because it's one of the best web browsers available. I dropped IE7 and went to Firefox about 3 years ago. I know that people use other browsers such as Opera (why?). does anyone know of any web browsers that give firefox a run for it's money? I'd like to see one try.

I use AVG 8.5 as my Antivirus... I used to use Symantec, but it sucked.... I use Windows Firewall (pretty sad).....For antispyware I use Webroot SpySweeper and Windows Defender - I'm actually well protected, as far as I know

well, you don't have to name your site to describe your site (i.e. paintchat). you can be more creative with the name... just look at sites like aviary.com. from the name you can't tell what it is, but it's actually a online photoshop app that's free (and it's a @%$#@#! good one too). Also, look at twitter! they could have named it quickspeak or something, but they didn't.... Also, not being able to decide a name is normal... It took me a week to come up with a name for my blog. In the end, i ultimately chose "The Daily Rampager", and to this day I still have thoughts about changing the name.... Plus, if you thing coming up with a name is hard, wait till u try to come up with a logo

I have a gateway laptop with an Intel Celeron M processor. It has 256 mb of RAM and it isn't fast, but it gets the job done. It came with WinXP preinstalled on it. Is there any way I can install a 64-bit Intel Dual-core processor in it and/or upgrade the RAM? Also, I want to upgrade the Hard Drive from 50 GB to 250 GB. How do you think it' perform after that?? Would it be incompatible? Would I have to buy a brand new motherboard?

Acer 3680 Laptop Does Not Open After Lid Is Opened

Wait, if you do that, then it completely defeats the purpose of the standby feature. So you'll be force t turn your computer off unless you want it to overheat and melt the CPU (exaggeration)... -
I've heard this word being used in terms of building computers, but what is t? is it the clear stuff you put on the CPU? And if not, can someone still tell me what the purpose of that clear stuff is? I'm usually not a newb when it comes to computers, but thats for software, etc. I can't understand the hardware (besides CPU, HDD,RAM, basic stuff)

Recently, I heard about this new ebook reader called the Alex eBook Reader. I think it's flat out awesome. It's not any ordinary reader! It runs Android 2.0 and has dual screen view (color and ebook)! It's also touchscreen! It was made by some company called Spring Design (http://springdesign.com/). I think it's to be released in early 2010, I'm not sure, but it should be a thing to put on your Christmas list if you like to read.

The Droid phone was just released a few days ago, and it was pretty popular. So the question is: are YOU getting one?

If you're planning to upgrade to Windows 7, a word of caution. It can take as long as three or four hours, depending on what OS you're upgrading from. So before you attempt the upgrade, check whether you and your computer are ready for it. First off, if you're running XP, prepare to scrap your computer. Most XP computers won't have the power to run Windows 7. Plus, you've got an unbelievably long process ahead, and you'll have to erase everything on your drive. On the plus side, if you have Vista, your life just got easier, but there are still some hiccups along the way. On October 22, Windows 7 was released with different versions (Home, Pro, etc.) that come in two types: 32-bit and 64-bit. 64-bit can be faster, but you'll need some major hardware. Below are the requirements for Win 7. Many XP computers won't be able to handle Windows 7, as XP is much less demanding: 233 Mhz processor 64MB memory 1.5GB hard drive space Microsoft has a program on it's site called the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor" that will check if your PC is capable of running the OS. If you pass the test to see if your PC is good for the upgrade, plan to get at least four hours for the job. Upgrading from Vista can be easy, if you already have all the updates including SP! and SP2 service pack updates. If you do, then the process is a simple upgrade, which can take 45 minutes to an hour. If you don't have an updated version, then you'll need to get the service pack updates from Microsoft's website, which can take 30 minutes to an hour each. If you're planning to upgrade from XP, then you're going to need quite a bit of time (3-4 hours.). Users are required to do a clean install. So before you star, back up all your data (or not). Some experts advise doing a clean install even if you're running vista. Even though it's time consuming it can help speed up your computer by making sure that it's running only the programs that you currently need.
