  1. Learn HTML first and formost, do not use programs such as frontpage and dreamweaver until you have at least learned the language. Learning HTML before going to a design program lets you learn how things opperate, and gives you a head start when you want to move to more complicated things like PHP and Perl scripting. There are many good books on learning HTML. HTML is quite an easy language to learn, and it won't take you long.
  2. To a certain extent, yes I think most of us do want our life documented for the future. For ourselves and for future generations.
  3. Ya that is very cool... not available for sale yet though... they are just prototypes at this time... http://michaelconnally.com/ is the inventor's website, not much info on there though.... he's got a sure hit though, his site states he is being flooded with emails, as soon as he has a sellable version I am sure it will go through the roof.
  4. The only problem is I know that I am not the only one getting the error. I ran a meta analyzer on scrub the web and it cannot fetch the domain name http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ comes back with Bad hostname cpol.info;. And the only way I can get to my site is to add the ip for ns1.trap17.com into my dns search order.
  5. Tried it at a different PC... same thing... the dns servers are hitting it with about a 50% success rate. ns1 and ns2 don't have the same IP address do they? Because I was just trying nslookup again, set my default server to ns2 first and it gave me the ip of 209.*.*.* then I tried NS1 and it gave me a 69.50.*.* ip address, then when I switched back to ns2 it gave me the same IP it just found for ns1.What the heck is going on there?
  6. 1) Average velocity is -4m/sec2) Tricky one, but I am assuming you are talking about the same day, as such there are 17975 seconds between 25 seconds after noon and exactly 5pm. So I get a calculation of aprox -15m/hr (not sure about my calcs on that one, and too lazy to double check )3) 6m/sec4) Nice one, throw in a trick of speed vs. velocity... the speed is 7m/s the velocity is the same. If I remember my physics classes the primary difference between speed and velocity is that velocity takes direction into account (or some such thing)5) This is just a quick calc so it is just a rough estimate, but I think it is after 2 seconds and again possibly at 10 seconds (on the way down)no more time to work on these.... interested to know if my physics memory is right at all?
  7. no still not resovling from where I am... not sure why.
  8. after further investigation ns2.trap17.com apparently recognizes cpol.info.
  9. Hello, I just recently recieved my site, I used a registered Domain name cpol.info. I have the name server settings correctly set to ns1.trap17.com and ns2.trap17.com. I managed to get to my site yesterday no problem, but today no go. After doing an nslookup using ns1.trap17.com as the default server I found that ns1.trap17.com has no idea where cpol.info is. Can someone please help me out here.
  10. Actually the only country on Al Queda's so called hit list that have not been hit with terror attacks is Canada. As frightening as the thought is (being a canadian myself) I think Canada could very well be the next target, Toronto would be a logical choice, though I guess it could be Ottawa, Montreal, or any other large city, but Toronto, being the largest and the economic hub of Canada, would be the logical choice.
  11. Like his position on the issue of helping the Liberals avoid a summer election or not Chuck Cadman was a great man, and an even greater politician. His life should certainly be honoured, and his career was worthy of the man. The conservatives were foolish not to keep him around, they needed his moderate voice.P.S. I am working on creating a Canadian Politics website (cpol.info) and I was wondering if I could use this article? Thought I would also take the time to ask if you write articles on Canadian Politics often and if so would you like to contribute to my site from time to time? PM me if you are interested.
  12. I dislike camera phones for several reasons, not the least of which is the low quality of the pictures that are taken, sure it's fun to have at a bar or something like that when you don't really care that much about quality you just want to take some fun photos, but there are other issues with them.I work for a school board, and that board is looking at banning all cell phones in every school across the board for both students and employees. Camera phones are the reason for this possible upcomming ban. The theory is someone could take one of these camera phones into a change room or bathroom and no one would realize it is a camera. Personally I think the idea is a little nuts, but I can see thier point. Although I rely on having a cell phone at work since I am rarely in the same place two days in a row it is handy that my wife can just call my cell instead.
  13. I guess that makes sense. I really don't mind losing my credits like that, I can easily get them back, it didn't take me all that long to accumulate them in the first place. I just didn't realize that about the system. Heck even losing the close to 100 credits I don't really care, because I don't plan to not be active for enough days to start to lose enough credits. In fact I hope to maintain at least 30 credits just to make sure that if I am ever caught unable to log on for a very long time I won't be suspended.
  14. Sorry, but that presentation is nothing but conjecture with no real evidence. There was alot of wreckage from the plane all over the place at the pentagon, some of them clearly had American Airlines markings on them. The presentation claims that the holes are too small, this also is not true the wings were crumpled and/or destroyed. Another claim was that the windows are intact, yes some of the BLAST windows were intact, guess what they were designed with the purpose of staying intact when a BLAST hit it, from a misslile, or even a plane crashing through the wall, so is it any wonder some stayed intact? For the same reason police confiscate crime scene evidence and guess what they don't always return or release all of the evidence gathered.
  15. Yes terrorism is bad, but no the wave of terrorist attacks was not artificially created, they are occuring. I did not state that Moore lied, or that his evidence is wrong, just that you must watch it with an open mind and realize he is telling just one side of the argument and deliberately slanting the evidence. Moore does not have proof of anything, he has evidence, as simple as that. Farenheit 911 was NEVER, and I mean NEVER banned by the government. Some movie theaters refused to show it, yes, but it was only a handful of privately owned theaters, and they were well within their rights to do so, the movie was a huge success, many people watched it, so your claim that it was banned is rediculous. As for your 911-In Plane Site, well I will watch that perhaps at sometime, but the fact that it opens with the myth of the mysterious buldge and other "facts" like it is not likely to get me interested. Take a look here for some additional evidence PM 9/11: Debunking The Myths. Always examine both sides of the evidence, never take one sides "facts" as absolute. Moore made a great movie, and had some excellent points, but it is just his side of the argument, and as damning as it is there is some faults that I found with the film myself.
  16. Really... man that sucks, I had 117 credits when I signed up, I wondered why I dropped so much. I thought that I would keep the credits I had not used.
  17. Well I heard that what happened is the detonators blew, but the bombs did not go off, so the explosions that occured were simply the detonators. I heard, although it was unsubstantiated, that the one person injured was possibly one of the people who was carrying the bomb, the good thing is is that this time the bombers survived, so perhaps they can get to the terrorist cell that started this rash of attacks. underworldskateboards: Ok, you don't think London was on high alert? You don't think London was looking for this? You know this type of attack could happen anywhere in the world at any time, high alert or not. If you doubt me try boarding a subway in New York, your not likely to be searched, and of all places I would think that New York has had enough of a threat against them to warrent strong security. adriantc: Ok, no offence, but your position is no better than underworldskateboarders. Sure US foreign policy is bad, but that DOES NOT justify a terrorist attack so in no way are the terrorist attacks the fault of anyone but the terrorists. That being said everyone should watch Farenheit 911, but do it with an open mind. Those who are already against Bush realize that this was a BIASED documentary, those who are pro Bush realize that the facts are real, Moore did not make them up. F 911 is a great documentary, but Moore started the process with a predetermined goal, to prove that Bush's war was unjustified and that 9/11 lay at his feet. When you start out to prove something with a clear goal and a closed mind you will no doubt prove it true, however if you look at ALL the evidence with an open mind you will realize that it is not black and white, good and evil, but rather various shades of grey, there is no pure evil in the world, or is there any pure goodness.
  18. Very cool.... And ya I tried zooming in all the way.... too funny. Those google geeks love there little jokes don't they.
  19. I haven't managed to confirm any deaths, but there is rumoured to be at least one. BBC Report CNN Report Apparently the detonators screwed up or something and they didn't explode, but they were very similar to the other bombings.
  20. Similar to that is the english saying "There's no such thing as a free lunch". Always be suspicious of "Free Money" it is rarely what it is advertised as, and often it is outright illegal or will end up costing you money.
  21. Actually, this is niether new, nor untested. There was a researcher I read about somewhere who had a chip implanted in his arm, it was basically just a GPS chip, but in tandem he added a program to the door and lock mechanisms at his home and office so they would unlock automatically and/or open as he approached. It also enabled his wife to simply call up a program to see where he was. Apparently his wife was getting a similar chip implanted in her arm, and they were working on a cell phone type chip last I heard so that they would always be able to talk to one and another. The article was several years ago, and I can't remember much else about it so I can't point you in the right direction, but it has been done.As for concerns based on science fiction movies, may I remind you that they are fiction.
  22. I met my wife thru a string of coincidences. You see really I should have met my wife a number of times before hand, but for one reason or another we didn't. I moved to the town I now live in in order to attend college, my first day there I attended a outdoor movie that the college put on for first years, I sat on a picnic table, the table beside mine my wife sat with a bunch of friends. Surprisingly our tables didn't talk to each other. We only found out many years later that we were that close, and there was only one showing of the movie, and there were only the two picknic tables so it is definate we were basically beside each other. Then the college put on a concert (can't remember the band) we both attended, and we think we were probably sitting in the same row (but we can't be 100%). After that I was at a keg party, I went with this really annoying guy, and I got into a discussion with these two guys due to the fact that the guy I came with annoyed the hell out of them and they asked my what his deal was. I ended up talking to these guys most of the night. I found out years later (the year I married my wife) that the two guys were my wife's then boyfriend and her best friend, we found out because her best friend was reminicing about the keg party and how this really annoying guy kept bugging him, and how he ended up talking to the guys friend most of the night, after hearing this I asked him where the keg party was at, when he told me I started laughing and said that I was the friend of the annoying guy. What is really bizzar is that my wife was supposed to attend that keg party, but at the last second backed out because she was ill. Then I heard word about a halloween party some classmates were throwing, I knew a girl in my class was going that I had a sort of crush on, after basically twisting the arm of another classmate I got a ride to the party only to find out that the girl I had a crush on had a boyfriend, and they had recently gotten engaged, well at the party there were three other girls, one of them a close friend was hitting on, I thought she was cute but wasn't about to interfere in my friends attempt to get to know her, so I talked to the other two girls most of the night ignoring the other one. My friend finally admitted he had struck out and left the party, the other two girls in that group had made it clear that they thought I was nice but had no interest in me, which was fine with me because I was more interested in thier friend. After my friend left I went down and saw the girl he was hitting on sitting by herself watching something on TV, I asked if I could join her, she said yes. I sat down beside her looked at her shoes and said "Nice Shoes" she smiled at me. The rest, as they say, is history, I am now happily married to that very woman. I generally don't believe in fate, however I have to wonder, I should have met my wife at least three times prior to that party, but I didn't, and prior to that party either she or I had a significant other, but the night of the party we were both single. Say what you will, but I have to consider that fate played a part in our meeting.
  23. Not exactly, you cannot copyright physical items, only intelectual property. If you create an item you can patent it, but you wouldn't copyright an invention. Also works copyrighted in the US are protected in Slovenia under Slovenian copyright regulations through the World Trade Organization.
  24. hard to build up a good bot, but it is fun. Takes alot of effort, and in the beginning it is hard to find a person to fight, so it could certainly use improvement, but it is a great game in my opinion.
  25. I have spoken with anthropologists, I haven't heard of one who can verify the story of Sodom and Gamora (sp?). For those who are interested however the story of Lot (as he is known in the bible) is Genisis Chapter 19 I believe. If you know of any anthropoligical evidence of Sodom then please post it, I would be interested in seeing such evidence. In what way is homosexuality against human nature? Homosexual behaviour has been observed in almost every spiecies on the planet, one theory holds that it is natures way of maintaining a stable population. Regardless, I am assuming you mean it is against human nature because it is sexual release without producing offspring, well oral sex is also the same and against human nature in this manner, as is masterbation. Are you going to prevent people who engage in oral sex and/or masterbation from marrying and adopting children? By the way who exactly says that a gay family is not considered as a healthy environment? You know you can't take an entire segmant of the population and make broad generalizations about them without considering facts. How many childeren live in actually physically abusive families? How many of these families are considered normal by the conventions you mentioned? How many cases can you state of a child raised by homosexuals (note homosexuals not pedophiles) where the child was abused in any way (physically or mentally). Oh and before you try and claim this doesn't happen, there are many children who have been raised and/or are being raised by gay families, sure the gay partner may not have been able to adopt said child, but the biological parent is still free to engage in homosexual lifestyle.
