Live 8 Concerts What do you think about it?
petgraveyard replied to sonorama's topic in General Discussion
Well, if you werent already aware, the conclusion was reached to forgive 40 billion dollars in debt and give an additional 50 billion dollars in aid to Africa. This conclusion was reached a while ago at the G8.I must remind everyone here that the enitre purpose of Live 8 was the G8 conference, not to goggle over your favorite music stars. I just thought I would clear that up now.About the forgivness of debt, I don't think we should've forgiven all of it. I am happy about the 50 billion dollars in aid, but not the 40 billion dollar debt forgiveness. Just a thought, you know? Those governments were the ones who took all the money, and they promised to give the money equally to members of the countries. But intstead of distributing this money, they took it all for themselves. It really is disgusting what they did.Just thought I would add my two cents to this discussion. -
I highly doubt the likelihood of a planet hitting Earth, considering I was taught that all the planets were in a very delicate balance so they wouldn't collide etc. I believe something to do with gravity...ehh, I'm not the greatest when it comes to planets and astronomy, though I have always been intrigued by it.Anyway, we've lasted this long without getting hit, what's to say we cant last for the remainder of Earth's existance?Well, I should stop rambling on about things I don't know too much about. Good day.

Windows Codename "longhorn" To Be Named "vista" Its official...
petgraveyard replied to Phyre's topic in Operating Systems
I can't wait to get this OS, unlike some others who posted here.I keep up with the Windows series of OS very well. I'll be getting a new PC loaded with this software on it as soon as it is released to the public as a stable version.I do know why some hate Windows, but it really is magical, and all those who like Linux because it is "better", I prefer my point-and-click interface and don't think it should be harder than that.Just my thoughts on the matter. I should start a countdown until the release day (wait it hasn't been announced yet ) -
Adriantc, you think that the President is deciding key world issue solutions twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week? There is a time for leisure, and most likely whatever he was doing in Scotland at the time was on recess, he didn't run out of the building at a random time and start riding a bike.Saint Michael, those documents were not real documents, they have been proven to be false documents.Steve, speak for yourself. Something tells me that the President of the United States is smarter than you.Danieluchis, the media is around all of us every minute of every day, and you havfe to choose wheather to tune it out or believe absolutely everything is tells you. It has nothing to do with your age. Don't make fun of a man who fell off of his bike, I'm certain that you have also fallen off a bike before. It is not a hilarious once in a lifetime occourance for someone to fall off their bike, if you use your mentality and completely disregard that it is the President of the United States.

People, must we break down like this?I'm sure the President had a reason for falling. He is not a stupid man, the media just brainwashes the youth (that's you) into thinking that he is. It really is a shame.Obviously brainless, your username describes you, because he was not intending to attack the police officer. As said in the artice, he checked up on the officer and was concerned with him. Even if you meant that as a joke, you shouldnt make stupid ones like that.As for hitting the member of the secret service, that could be expected considering they are encircling him during the bike ride, and therefore it wouldnt be that hard to hit someone. Here, imagine this: You are riding a bike with 7-10 people in a circle around you. Are you going to ride perfectly without hitting any one of them?Just some thoughts...

Finally, someone thinks the way I do!This wasted a lot of time of my life. Almost two seasons of time will never return because of the time that I wasted on this...garbage. It wasted a lot of my energy as well. It wasn't even all that fun, it was just something that I felt I had to do for some reason. I can't stand what it did. It took me almost two seasons to stop playing too. And I was far too old to be playing a kids game like that What you should do to stop the people in your school from playing it, is to use the same arguments that I used above. It should be more than effective in getting them to stop.Good luck with that

Well, it is spelled infuriate, look it up in a dictionary and you will understand. Now, I think it makes people sound like they have a low intelligence because they dont have the patience to type like a normal human. Do you get what I am saying? Then it follows out into your life like using it in real-world situations. AND it starts to make you type slower because when you have to type things that are real (like for example if you are typing a book report for school), you just can't do it normally. Like for example, it may turn out like this: Lol, the main character in dis book iz John Doe. He had me rofl with the things that he did in the book. Don't u agree? PS - Degrade nad infuriate are real words! Look them up! Well, guess what, I doubt the richest and possible one of the smartest businessmen in the world uses "lol". Typically when you are sitting on top of the world of business and need to talk to somebody you aren't going to say "lol". Its not really simplifying your life, because, as said before (or after), they don't actually save much space, it just makes it harder for those of us who type normally to understand you. I just group it all under leetspeak because it just makes sense that way. I know that "13375p33k" is like that, but I think "lol" is just as bad. Just my opinion on things.

Is This Illegal? Music and Internet
petgraveyard replied to fsastraps's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Most of the information given here is false. You have to be VERY careful with this. First of all, although kind of irrelevant, burning copies of CDs for your friends or family is VERY illegal. Now, about your situation. You cant allow people to even HEAR music (that means upload to the server) that has a copyright attached to it. ALL music by big name artists (and even some small artists) is copyrighted. Unless you have written permission from the artists that hold the copyright to use the music in the exact format that you plan to use it in, you cannot use copyrighted music. No, buying a CD does not mean that you can use the copyright as you wish, it just means that you can listen to the copyrighted music for your own enjoyment ONLY. The only way to get music on your website is to write the songs yourself, and then upload those songs. And if you haven't copyrighted your music, then it's open for anyone to use for themselves in whatever means they want. That's my two cents, remember I may be wrong, and I DON'T warrant you any saftey with following my instructions. All this was intended to do was to help you, and I am not making any warranties. My recommendation: don't offer music. -
Live 8 Concerts What do you think about it?
petgraveyard replied to sonorama's topic in General Discussion
I have nothing wrong with Live 8, lets start by saying that. Now, I was pretty close (within an hour or two) of Live 8 and the hype was really heating up. But I had my doubts on the reality of it, and I can't believe we packed a million people on one street!Don't get me wrong, I do feel VERY bad for those suffering from poverty in Africa, but we did give that money to them...It's all the fault of the government's of these countries. We give the countrys money, the governments agree to give it to the people, and what do they do? They give it to themselves! Over there some very cruel governments exist. Now, I don't really think, given the monetary state that people are claiming we are in or will be in, that we should say "poof! You don't owe us anything anymore!". Maybe we could give them some help for free, but we should still leave the debt standing. We shoul't force them to pay us within a period of time, but we should have them pay it back eventually. That's my feeling, I know that there are kids starving and I would be eager to help them through their time of need. -
Is it just me or is "lol" and "pwn" getting on your nerves? I cant stand that stuff. Doesn't it just make you want to scream?I know its supposed to make typing more convienent. I know its for the fun of chatting. I know that it is what the youngsters do these days. But it really just makes you sound stupid. It really does. It degrades your intellect. It makes you sound like you just dont care about anything. It makes you sound like you can't talk like a human. Some of it is meant to make fun of people, but most of us dont understand the lot of it. Why cant they just come out and say it in english? I think it is becuase they are scared. Scared of what their friends and peers will think if they stop talking in the so called "cool people language". I really just cant stand how people talk like that. And people are even starting to use it outside the computing world now! Saying "lol" when something they think is funny crosses their mind. Writing it one their tests, quizzes, and essays at school like it is proper. It just infuriates me. Does it infuriate any of you? I think it should. It is just so bad, and so annoying, and so fustrating, its just unbearable!

I Got A Zen Micro Yesterday... But now I need help...
petgraveyard replied to theconman's topic in Science and Technology
I've wanted one of these for a while now, but anyway for your question...I've been cheated out of an auction once. It was really easy to fix, the guy said that it must've been "lost in the mail" and he sent me out another one after I sent him about 20 emails. There have been other situations where it involved court, but that is very rare.So what can you so to ensure that this doesn't happen to you?1. Verify that EVERYBODY on his/her feedback has said that they got there item in perfect condition in little time. If there is one person that didn't, he/she may be on a trend of random fraud and cannot be trusted.2. Email them, like said above, to verify where they got the item, where it is now, and if it is in good condition. Ask as many questions as possible. If you get a return that sounds like some of the information may have been made up, do not trust them.3. Check the auction and make sure that they know what they are talking about, and that the picture looks like they took it for themselves and not taken from the product page. That's about all I can tell you, remember that fraud is rare and you shouldnt have to worry all that much. Plus you can get it insured for up ot 10000 US dollars I believe.
