Suppose there is a smoothly running website having content focusing on the keyword "XYZ". But, the site don't have keyword "XYZ" in its domain name[..... and it is clear from your kindlewirelessreadingdevices.net that how having keywords in your domain name can lead to higher search engine rankings....] However, the domain name with exactly same keyword "XYZ" is available. SO, if the domain name with keyword "XYZ" is purchased and added as an add on domain name to the existing domain name and website.

 

Will this change affect the search engine ranking of the site? Will this add on domain name with the keyword "XYZ" in its domain name improve search engine ranking of the existing site?

 

Also, your kindlewirelessreadingdevices.net is motivating me. Would you mind telling me if the site kindlewirelessreadingdevices.net have started generating you some revenue or not? Also, how much visits you are getting daily on your site.

 

I am extremely desperate to see some stats of your site, so that I can analyze and learn something from it

problem is, i've been busy with two other projects. i'm going to start my own make money online website, and i have just purchased 4 domains for a niche i plan to work on as soon as i get my hosting resources upgraded. two time consuming projects. i will try to fullfill my commitment i made earlier in this thread(there is absolutely no doubt i can do it), but time is money and there is more money in the other two projects. plus, it's been a dream and goal of mine to help people make money online. there is too much false information floating around and a lot of people fail because of it and they give up. i can realistically help some start making $100 a month in 2 months which would grow to $2,000 a month after a year(realistically). so if time permits, i will try to fullfill my commitment, but i wont be holding my breath.

Hi everyone, I have just came across of this open source content management system software, CMS Made Simple. It has been awarded with the title of "Overall Best Open Source CMS Award 2010" by Packt Publishing. And, only after becoming aware of this, I think of trying it out, and at the moment, I am playing with it on my wampserver. So, far I only faced issue while installing it as I had to change some settings in my PHP configuration which takes some time, little bit more than what I thought.But, now its installed, and I am trying to figure it out about its functionality and if its really Simple as stated in its title, perhaps, I may end up using it on my site.Did anyone else heard of this cms? Hello everyone,I have a broadband connection which recently I downgraded from 512kbps to 256kbps speed, I know it may sound very low, but, here in India, its still considered as good speed Also, I have another option of connecting to internet through my mobile gprs/edge connection, using which at the moment I am currently posting here So, all I want to know that, is there any way by which I can combine both these internet connections so that I can get the benefits of much higher speed while surfing and downloading contents on my pc? I want to utilize both my internet connections to their full extent.The speed of internet connection using my mobile GPRS/EDGE highly varies depending on the time of accessing while my broadband connection gives almost constant and maximum speed that I can achieve from 256kbps internet connection.Waiting for replies and thanks in advance

When you look at the bottom bottom of the DVD disc, does it appear to have had information burned onto it? (You can tell by the appearance. Look at one of your burned cds you should see a change in colour).
I had this burning problem with a computer. I burned a DVD video on it, but it would not play and showed up as EMPTY. I repeated this a couple times and it wouldn't work. So, I tried the DVD on another computer and also on a TV dvd player and it worked fine on both. So the problem was apparently the DVD writer not being able to play what it burned? Kind of weird, but that's what happened. I didn't bother finding a solution. I don't know really, perhaps try another brand of disc or maybe check online to see if otheres are having problems with your specific dvd writer model it might have a firmware update that could help.

Yeah, I already checked the disk and there is a change in color, so, it is burned successfully, though I forget to mention this in my previous post.....

One thing is still left to try, and that is to try run that burned dvd in another computer. I will try to do that as soon as possible and will post the results here very soon. And, if that DVD runs in someone else computer successfully, then I would end up facing similar weird problem that you faced.....lol

Hello everyone, I am facing a problem with my Sony DVD writer. Since, its a DVD writer it is also supposed to write blank DVD, but, it has stopped writing DVD. I tried to burn a blank DVD few days back and it got burned too...I got a message "Burned Successfully" or something similar...can't remember it correctly. But, after that when I enter the burned DVD in the tray, it was simply showing the DVD as blank........really can't understand the reason behind this....I tried to write DVD multiple times using different blank DVD and my same Sony DVD writer, but, at the end, only wasting up my blank DVD :(As a test, I also tried to write a blank CD and surprisingly, it got burned and the content was being detected by windows.Thus, I came to the conclusion, my Sony DVD writer can write blank CD but can't write blank DVD. Although, it can read contents of both CD and DVD.So, I am here asking for your suggestions. What could be the possible reason and solution for this weird problem? Thanks in advance

About your last sentence question. You need to check secure certificate at the bottom of the site's page. Those site gurantee that in case of such worst events you'll be insured to get your domain to another registrar legally.

It's totally your risk to go with any host or domain registrar. You can't predict anything about domain/hosting sites anyday on the internet.

Hmmmmm......I know that, but, still have a doubt in mind, now suppose I bought a domain name from any registrar just an example and later on they just shut down their site without any announcement, then surely I will loose access to my control panel, what would happen to my domain name then????

Some domain registrar that i found - gossimer.com and xtraorbit.com. These domain registrars are also providing hosting.

I checked both of them and gossimer is providing domain name at the cheapest price and also seems to be well established. So, I am now thinking of going with them....what do you say??

In your situation you can only afford shared hosting as of yet. You can get better price for your small site at smal price from limedomains and hostica if you are on lower budget. Hope that helps.

Hello everyone, First of all, I want to know that is there any trusted domain name registrar or web host provider that can accept payment from alertpay because I only have funds in my alertpay account and I just want to buy the domain name as soon as possible.....can't really wait to collect enough mycents. Both of them accepts alertpay and the domain name at lacehost costs $10 while at snoork hosting it costs $14.99. my favorite platform was symbian os till the android came. symbian is very light weighted operating system a mobile phone can have and it's very useful with softwares like office and pdf viewer and multimedia players but when it comes to android the story is different. i liked wm many years ago but the lack of regular update is the biggest issue with windows mobile and this is why i went for symbian but after release of the android i changed my favorite platform. android is somthing like the windows mobile today should be but it isn't with a big difference. Android is OPEN SOURCE which means you can do anything with your phone. Today every game or software that release for wm or ios4 or symbian will have a android version and this shows the popularity of this platform.

I agree with you iniyila, android os is now a very popular mobile phone platform and considering the facts that its open source and a lot of software are available for this platform, its my favorite mobile phone platform too at the moment
And, also if I am not wrong then android os versions are upgradable to the latest version directly from the phone which is absent in symbian os....??

I guess I need help now, just updated the template again after making certain changes that are in fact noticeable, so no need to specify them

Firstly, I need help in creating the layout of the page, just below the main horizontal navigation bar, there are 3 boxes, with the boxes at left and right end having fixed width of 200 px and the box at center also having fixed width at the moment, but, i don't want it to fixed, I want it to be fluid filling up entire space in the center which is what making me cry Since, I am not a css expert neither I am a web designer, so if anyone having good command over css and layouts, please help me making it fluid, so that I can get 3 column layout with left and right boxes as fixed and center box as fluid...........
also, all three of the boxes are contained in another div...

Just a quick update, I have made a lot of changes in the footer and now its totally different, and this is the first time when I would say I am pretty much satisfied with the output....

 

From my side the footer is 100% finished, although it requires code cleanup but that is not my concern at the moment. So, now waiting for your comments on the footer now regarding its styling and etc..... so give me your valuable suggestions

I'm a fan of warm colors and colors that compliment each other. The colors you have currently do not seem to work entirely together. The only colors i see that work well together that you are currently using is the dark red, the content area's background color and the border color. Here is a few color schemes you could try out or take colors from:

Not sure if you are using any HTML template or CMS for this. I assume you are using HTML template. Looks nice to me. Don't know how many sections or content you are coming up with so can't comment for this template. Overall template looks decent. Just fill in some site content so that we can comment more. good luck with domain and site.

At the moment, I am just creating html template using dreamweaver, later on I will convert it to be used as a template in any cms whichever I select at the end......still not sure about cms software;)

I like the design, it's a good one and has everything I prefer, a header, a footer, content area and several menus with some bars, really a good job!
Now I could tell more if you would fill the content and we would see it in action..

I like the colors, I think you need to design a favicon too, if you don't know what is a favicon, when do a google search and you'll understand.

Yeah, I will design a favicon too and will put it in live action once the banner is also completed, I do also have a sample banner which I am using at backend to design the template, but, since I haven't purchased that domain name yet, its not public as it includes my upcoming domain name......

first, i got this error twice till the link works "500 Internal Server Error". i don't know why? since it is under your domain but keep that in mind.
in general, it looks good. and you did a great job with the structure of the layout i like it, it is so neat. the same thing for the colors, the dark red and light gray are so convenient together, but make sure to make the the two lines of the dark area in the footer with the same shade of the header to give a harmony to your site. as i can see those two lines are orange now when your header is dark red.

and if you concentrated on the header right now, then go on you did a good job. it looks fine for me, the colors and gradients are good even i liked the font. so continue your work and upload it again i am interested to see it when it finished. good luck.

For testing purposes, I am currently using free hosting provided by x10hosting, and I am not surprised that you got this error......as their servers are not working fine like earlier....they are now too slow
And, the orange lines at the bottom have been changed......you can check the latest upload here and to compare it with my earlier upload Click Here.
Some of the changes I have made in my latest upload includes:

1. Much clean layout and code....a lot of unnecessary divs are removed.
2. Images used are optimized to a very small size.
3. New styles are used in the navigation
4. Box at the top right corner of the header which will be used to put search engine is now fixed and is now using much much clean code....you can check it by comparing it with my previous upload of template.
5. And, some other small change......just find it out yourself by comparing

Well, it looks good otherwise but there are some technical things I would like you to concentrate on in your design. It would be better if you aligned the elements in a vertically 'peaceful' way. By that I mean move the header contents to be vertically aligned with the rest of the content. Move the logo and sub-header to the right a little bit and move the elements on the right a little bit to the left. This is because of the human mind. Anyway, you'll realize that most people will find it more pleasing that way. I found your 3 boxes in the content area a bit confusing with 2 side by side little boxes of advertisements and statistics. You should consider realigning them so that they are aligned vertically correctly with the main content area box.

Hmmm....at the moment I am not concentrating on content because it depends on the cms which I will select at the end, so until I don't finalize the cms software which I will be using, I can't work on content area.
But, thanks will look forward to implement your suggestion when I will start working on content area of the template....and regarding advertisement area, I have plans of my own:ph34r: You will get to see that in action when site will be ready for beta launch which is still months away

Now, I am finally able to show the glimpses of my new design to you guys. Please note that this is not finished yet, some of the things that are still left to do includes,

1. Buy a new domain name......lol....
thats the reason you will not be able to see my new site name at the footer in copyright Also, I am using my existing domain name to show it, its temporarily.

2. Design a new banner, and put it in its actual place...

3. Content area is still not finished, at the moment mainly focusing on header of my design
4. ...........a lot of other things

So, what do you think of the design? And most importantly I have paused working on the design temporarily, until I get to know that if I am heading in correct direction or not......so this is the right time when I still can go back and change it from the core to make the design more better.........

Well, I am now almost certain about my forum software, I have decided to go with mybb for now, currently on my way to customize it according to my needs, I don't why but, I am really enjoying it, unlike other forum software I found it easy to understand, and with only one day of experiencing it on localhost, I found a bug in it..........check it here in live action......

But, despite of this, I will still go with mybb because it has got all the functionality that I was looking to have on my site......and moreover in future, I can also write plugins for mybb, I found it so much convenient and easy to understand, but, ofcourse I will have to learn php first...

And, about cms software, I am still confused, now I am also reconsidering that if I actually need a cms or not........kinda confused........
Also, tried using drupal, downloaded latest version of drupal from their official site and when I tried to install in on localhost using wampserver, unfortunately it wasn't working, during installation it was continuously jumping back to database configuration page even after entering correct information........
So, I have to install it on my free hosting account using softaculous, and this was the first time when I saw drupal admin panel and truly speaking its difficult to understand in comparison to joomla, so its gonna take time to get used to it.....

Thus, if anyone knows some good ebooks about drupal, then please tell me.............because that would really help me.....I am looking forward to use drupal+mybb duo for my site.........

Hi manifestmw2, I have used both XP and Win 7 Ultimate for quite some time, thus, I would prefer XP over Win 7 Ultimate only if the system configuration is less powerful, but, if you have a very good system configuration like fast ram, descent graphics card, etc. then no doubt win 7 is better as the good graphics interface comes with a price.

One more thing I would like to tell you, that if you are installing win 7, then in most of the cases you will not need to install additional drivers as win 7 is already packed with drivers, so, just after the installation you are ready to use it

Well personally, I don't have much problem with the case, its not that much bad, but, its just its shape that is making it unusual at the first sight. Secondly, amd processor, I think you should look for a core i5 or entry level core i7 processor from intel, that's just my opinion ;)And 4GB DDR3 1333 and the graphics card NVIDIA GeForce GT240 1GB is really a powerful combo, no complain about them

hmmm... since you have already registered on Xisto - Support billing area and considering you use the same email address which you used to register here.....then, you will have to wait for the mycents script to run, if I am not wrong then mycent script did not run yesterday, but, it should run anytime after 2-3 hours of writing this post......i have been tracking the execution time of mycents script from past one week

You have to register for it to show up, and it will show up after like... 24 hours or so after you register HERE. Go to the client area on the left side of the page. If you don't register at the billing centre, your mycents won't show up. Just be patient. The first time when I registered I got paranoid about my mycents not showing up properly, but you have to be patient.

About your site- that site is made of asp pages so it is either hand coded every page or some CMS based on .net platform. oxide was one i heard of not sure which is this.

about flat file based cms being hackable ? yes. it is same if anyone gets access to cpanel account. with database like sites it becomes harder for them but flt file based sites are easy to lose data.
