As jaychant said, for some guys it takes up all they have to start talking to someone because they can't get the 'what will they think' idea out of their head. Second step is the 'shall I ask her out' question. Theres a BIG difference between casual talking and an actual date. He might be terrified about several things that could go wrong or that he could do wrong. Not asking you is, in some weird way, making sure that nothing goes wrong, if theres not a date, nothing can go wrong! As jay also said, why don't you ask him out? If it seems to be such a big step for him, and if he's so insecure, maybe you should ask? He will still be frightened though, and might even cancel or say no for the previous given reason, u should consist then, and tell him you don't take no for an answer and that it will all be great/ok. Because behind the 'no' will be a very excited yet frightened to death person :lol:He probably realises that he is behaving weirdly, the problem is that, the more you say that he does, the more he will act weird, because then he gets the feeling that he is messing everything up which only leads to more insecurity. If it works out, he will need to get his confidence up though because people with such low self esteem, (ive been there) tend to be quite jealous aswell as you also mentioned before. This is because of the insecurity and the thought that everyone is a threat/better than you. It takes a lot of work to get that image out of their head, but if that is what you really want, than that is what you have to do!

Indeed, and, my first impression of these boards is not the one of a 'lets go and post some trash'-forum and I'm sure other newcommers think the same and won't go spamming a board that they know is being looked after very carefully. What africa said would do the trick for sure. Maybe the amount of posts/amound of time can be limited in a certain way as well.

If you're looking for backgroundmusic you can also take one of the players and just make the sound loop and make the flash invisible. Don't even need a real player then u can just embed it and script it yourself. If you do want a player that you can fully customize and build from scratch heres some good info and tutorials. My first thaught was to just cut up the song and make it play, but I presume u ask this question because you want it to play more than once. In that case the solution could be quite simple too: Say you need a backgroundmusic (1song) to plat for 5 minutes and your song lasts for two minutes. You cut up the song in half and save it under a different name. You play the original one twice (or just loop it as many times as you want) and then the cut up one (which would last as long as you need to fill up the total time) once and you have your five minutes.

Thanks for the nice and fast reply Right now I have one but it's a frame-based website. Going to convert it first to a template based one and then implement a blog and by then hopefully I'll have gathered some points on here to get that hosting to I can create a forum. It seems a lot to learn at once but the basic steps are really easy once you get the hang of it. I won't hesitate to call for help though when I need it :XD:And yes I noticed so too, the fact that you HAVE to make posts and there are restrictions to what you post, and people guarding those makes it that only the truthful ones stay on top.

ICosts of laserprinters are dropping though and more and more people buy them as they are cheaper in the long run. The big difference is the price of the printer itself, people see a very cheap inkjet, don't want to spend a big amount on it and buy it, later on they have to take a second mortgage to pay off their cartridges. Because that's where most inkjet producing companies get their profits from: the cartridges. Now, a couple of years ago prices for laserprinters were indeed quite high and thus only considered for small businesses or offices or people who are self employed, etc. This because they really have to print a lot and the costs per printed page are lower with laserprinters. Other advantages: - Faster than ink, because it doesnt have to be sprayed line per line but the little granules get 'burned' onto the page - More precise, thanks to the laser. Inkjet spills tiny drops on the paper which leads to fuzy edges now and then which can be seen on fonts primarly. - Less replacement. However the cartridges are more expensive, they last A LOT longer so you don't have to run to the store every now and then. I do have to add the following, for images, inkjets are still seen as having better quality and being more cheap as color laser printers. Check it out for yourself though at the bottom. Theres also the fact that the range of printers has become so wide nowadays because theres all in one printers, standalones, inkjet, laser, and a couple of weeks ago a new technology was added to that but I forgot the name I took the liberty of looking up some things on a Belgian computerwebstore called Alternate.com just to give some examples: On this page you can see the inkjet printers, with resolution, dpi ("quality"), which paper formats it can print on, how it connects to your computer, even the level of sound it makes , and the price. Click on the arrows arranges all the printers by price (up/down), by resolution (up/down) etc. Unfortunately printing speed is not included here. As you can see these vary a lot and prices for the basic printers range from 70-100 and than a jump to 300 or more. For a multifunction with the same price as a normal inkjet, the resolution will be of course a lot lower. If you click on one of the printers you get the specifications (printing speed is in 'uitgebreide specificaties) and all the equipment (cartridges) that go with it. I chose this one, just a regular and cheap All in one printer, looks good, and its all in one, its HP so can't be bad, "looks like a mustbuy!". The black cartridge costs 27 for 600 prints, the colour one 32 for roughly 440 prints. Lets compare this with a laserprinter. Here you get the ppm instead of the dB, the rest of the specifications are the same. This is because laserprinters are, because of the technology, more quiet than inkjets. Nevertheless, I think this should be added for inkjets as well, but thats not the point atm so lets move on. I wanted to go for HP but the laserjets they make are, as said here before, usually professional equipent and prices go through the roof there There are however always one or two models that are 'buyable' (around 300). If you want to take a color AIO you can pay up to 8000. So either you take a cheap AIO and have only black or you take a cheap color and don't have the AIO solution. For instance the cheap color laser will cost you 199 and the cartridges are not that expensive either but they only give you up to 1500 pages per cartridge. If you want to have a cheap printer and cheap printing, I'd go for Brother or Samsung. Brother offers very cheap printers that go up in price gradually depending on your needs, a simple black laserprinter will cost you a hundred euros, 40 euro toner for 1500 pages. This one is a color laser and costs u 400. The cartridges? 52 for 2500 pages in black, and per color cartridge you can print 1500 pages for 65. 195 for 4500 coloured pages that is. So in the long run, you save money on the prints and cartridges either way. As for the rest it all comes down to what you want. I've get a Dell AIO here and if I chose draft quality the pages shoot out, on my HP Photoprinter it takes ages, even with low quality. Speed is generally better on lasers, but not always, color for pictures is generally better on inkjets, but not always. The only thing that is for sure is that if you print a lot, lasers are the way to go. In general monochrome printing will cost you about $0.02 per page for a laser printer and $0.15 for an inkjet printer.

Hello everyone! :XD:As all people do when they are new in town, I should introduce myself. I'm a 22 year old guy from Belgium and I'm willing to get more involved into the arts of webdesign and the lot. Therefore however you need a host etc and that's how I ended up here. But now that I am it seems that there's a lot more going on then people just trying to get a certain amount of posts and it's really a vivid and interesting community. I'm still going over all the things that are on the boards but from the looks of it I think I might like it here

Gmail user here. In Belgium there's still quite some people who give you 'the look' when they receive an e-mail from gmail which they think stands for 'gaymail'. Something which isn't quite understandable when you look at all that it offers. First of all, Google used the neverending 'rising' limit of your inbox to lure people into the service. I now have 7331 MB at my disposal which is still more than I have at live but apparently Yahoo gives you even more, I didn't know that. They also created the false feeling of 'uniqueness' in the very beginning by issueing 'invites'. Off course after a short while everyone had a 'gmail account' but people still thought they were the only ones. Both are excellent marketing strategies, I for one don't expect any less from Google. The interface is clean, neat, and VERY easy to use. (Googles trademark) The service itself is very customizable and it does what it promesses. The spamfilter is one of the best out there Virus protection is sometimes a bit annoying as you are not allowed to send any .exe files as attachment but I guess in the long run it does more good than bad. For me it's one of the only remarks I have about the service. The archive lets you keep track of virtually everything you ever sent, received, deleted, ... + You don't really have to delete anything thanks to the huge amount of storage you receive Some extra's: Labels. Not that it's the next wheel invention or that it hasn't been done before, but they're SO easy to use in gmail and so very damn handy at the same time. Label e-mails from work, ads, magazines, ... and find them easily in your inbox or search for them and get them all at once. Stars. like, bookmarking e-mails! Google talk Screen Capture by Marziah Karch See who of your e-mailcontacts are online, talk to them or videochat with them and afterwards you can store the logs, also in Gmail. Basicly most of these services are also found in other providers but the thing is, Google always does it somewhat better, cleaner, faster, easier to use, ... + one of the biggest advantages are all the services that open up with a gmail adress: blogger, agenda, docs, ... the whole range of their products.
