  1. Aliens, I love them but the idea of really seeing a skinny green skinned creature with black almond shaped eyes scares the heck out of me. I have like 30 books on aliens, and I frequent a lot of ET websites but in the end they still scare the heck out of me. Other than that I can see the whole ocean thing being scary. Nothing but deep blue sea below. Bug/Spiders don?t bother me as long as they are not on me. As soon as one lands on my then I freak.
  2. Wow! IÂve got everything up and running now but my ordeal could practically be its own tutorial. First I tried to set up an account but could not since my forum password was not the same as my Cpanel password. Then, once I got my account set up, I had to change the Cpanel password to something else. Then I had to find out what FTP to send my front page data to since the one originally told to me was wrong. Once I realized I needed to be sending my data to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ I thought I was all set but then my web page wouldnÂt show up. I finally needed to tell front page to send my files to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and at last my website is up and running, or at least under construction! Thanks again everybody who helped out!
  3. If I try that then I get "the URL totalwar is invalid" I'll check out the other thread once I track down WS_FTP Pro.
  4. Lets see favorite drinks, Well right now I am drinking coffee. If espresso counts as another drink then that would be number two, espresso mixed with milk and Carnation Instant Breakfast (over Ice). Milk alone would probably be next, I drink a lot of milk because I don?t drink pop, carbonation makes my mouth feel like its getting poked with needles. Red wine would be next probably followed by my favorite mixed drink which is Hot Dam 100proff mixed with apple cider. That?s about it.
  5. Hey everyone, I just set up my account, logged onto C panel, changed my password as per requested, and everything should be all set. But I try to connect to the ftp with Frontpage (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/) to upload my website and I get a The server unexpectedly closed the connection message. Any thoughts? If it has to do with my hosting credits, Im going to fix that today but I dont think thats it.Thanks
  6. Greetings everyone. Lets see, where do I start? I came here looking for new hosting. My old provider, openwar.net is no longer on line for some reason and I felt you guys seemed pretty stable. Openwar was another pay by your post site but it just used post count so I?m interested to see how your system works out. I am 23, graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with a BA in Elementary Education. Since there are no teaching jobs in Michigan and my Fianc? is still attending SVSU, I am stuck substitute teaching. Over the summer I?m working at the Sylvan Learning Center which is like a tutoring program. As I said above, I have a fianc? and I?ll post how I proposed as well as pictures of the rings once I get an account. The date is May 13, 2006 for anyone who cares. My interests include Reading books (Steven King, Vernor Vinge, Asamov, Orson Scott Card), Comics (Back issues of X-men, alpha flight, and what if, and graphic novels of Batman, Superman, Swamp thing, Spawn, JLA, and The Watchman). I will be using my web space here to host my website which is being overhauled currently. Its basically dedicated to my roleplaying game which is an amalgamation of my interests. I?m looking forward to my time here and wish you all the best.

  8. First of all I like Final Fantasies in general because they usually have a good balance between tutorials and game play. This can get a little frustrating if you?ve already beaten the game and are just playing through again but by in large you usually know how to control your characters quickly and you don?t waste more than a few minutes reading tutorials. I don?t usually play other RPG;s for this reason, their usually too confusing. Then again, even Final Fantasy tactics was confusing to me but oh well. So any who I think Final Fantasies are the best RPG?s out thereAs for FFX being the best, I think I liked VII more just because it was the reason I bought a play station. It just holds too many memories. The old NES/SNES ones were pretty cool though, and even though I never beat it the one with character classes was pretty cool. I just like being able to have a party of warriors or a party of white mages if I want. FFX was really linier and even though I liked the Yuna/Tidus, relationship it really didn?t compare to the Tifa, Aris, Cloud relationship of FFVII.
  9. I hope this is where this goes, I see a lot of songs but no creative writing. I just started my account and this is my first post. I thought I would post the setting of my role playing game. Although inspired by Vernor Vinge, it is my creative work and was written by and belongs to me. Four era?s worth of war has ravaged the galaxy. At the dawn of creation came the Chi War where Energy based beings, that some call Ebbs, and others call gods, created the first galactic conflict. It was during this first era that ?creationist life? was formed, which is to say that the Ebbs created mortal life long before it evolved naturally. That era ended when creationist life first encountered evolutionist life. It was believed that if mortal life could evolve naturally as well as artificially then the immortal life that the Ebbs possessed could also be achieved artificially. Mortals developed psionic techniques in an attempt to become immortal. New conflict continued in the era of the Psi War. The Psi War era ended when the first mortals achieved their goal and became Energy based beings themselves. These ?New Gods? used their knowledge of energy to teach mortals magic. This caused the Mage War, the third era, to begin. The Era of Magic ended when evolutionist life finally began to develop technology. The Mages, having been weakened through thousands of years of conflict, could not stand up against this new threat and fell at the dawn of the Tech War. Technological empires grew and fell in an vicious survival of the fittest until one technological empire gathered enough power to enslave the beings of pure energy. This final chapter in history was brought to conclusion by a new sect of mages that combined the powers of magic with those of technology, the Techno-wizards. Realizing that even they lacked the power to bring peace, they divided the war torn galaxy into 5 zones. The Zones were natural barriers that would contain various destructive forces and preserve the galaxy as a whole. The Zones prevent any one empire from collecting too much power and insure that no one empire could ever threaten the entire galaxy. This brings us to where we are now, in the fifth era of Totalwar. From core to edge the galaxy maintains a balance between its remaining destructive forces. The core of the galaxy is known as the Depths and magic is abundant. Moving out from the core magic weakens but faster than light travel is not yet possible without the aid of psionic techniques, giving this region the classification of Slow Zone. Once faster than light travel becomes possible, technology asserts itself and, although limited, the Beyond houses empires centralized in technology. To avoid the technological limitations of the Beyond, one must travel to the edge of the galaxy known as the Transcend. Here unlimited technology is used to mass produce and export more traditional technologies to the Beyond. The unlimited technologies of the Transcend do not make these outposts unrivaled. Energy based beings usually confined to Valhalla, the void surrounding the galaxy, can enter the Transcend in a weakened but sill formidable state. The fact that Ebbs enjoy being worshiped as gods, and will protect devote worshipers, makes religion a very big part of life in the Transcend. That?s a short overview, if you have any suggestions or want more detail on an aspect of it, feel free to post a reply. Thanks
