  1. I used to play a lot of Sid Meier's Civilization I and Sim City 2000. Lately i was playing some sport management games like championship manager and footbal manager. There was an old game called Populus II from 1991 that made me addicted to computers and strategic games since my childhood. I also have played Eliffot, a football manager game, capitalism II and warcraft. But the best of the best, in my opinion, is chess :) .

  2. Yeah, thanks.I'm looking at the post that you indicated. But it seems there is a different problem there. You see, he says the computer beep three times and them turn off. In my case, the computer beep three times and don't show nothing on the monitor, but it doesn't turn off.And then, more interesting, if i wait some minutes and reboot it, it works perfectly.I saw your post of yours in that post, and i'm trying to figure out something. Let me read all that and then i return. Thanks man.

  3. Hello guys!
I am having a little problem here, anyone can help me?
When I turn my computer on, it beeps three times. Then if I press the reset button in the next seconds, the problem repeat and will continue to repeat like ten times. But if a wait as much as five minutes before press the reset button then the computer work well and start the operating system. It is like it has to warm-up to work. Some one know why this occur (the warm-up thing)?

I read the manual of the mother board, it's an Intel D850MD and it says it's something wrong with the starting bytes of memory...
    Here is the link: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
I have two RDRAM in bank 0 and two CRIMM in bank 1.
This problem could be in another thing?

I am from Brazil and it is hard to find this Rambus memory here. I could find some but they are too expensive, like half the price of a new computer. Is there any compatible memory i could use?

    Thank you!

  4. Hello!I'm an enginering student too. From what i have learned, generaly you don't get a patent for an algorithm. Some months ago i saw a presentation by a famous professor here in my university. He said that there are two ways to get recognized: By the market or by the academia. When you choose the market, you are trying to make money from what you creat. So can try to sell your idea to a big company, associate with a small one or build your on company to make your idea become a product. If you choose the academia, then you maybe be also recognized by the market, and get some consulting projects. This way you can make some money too. If you publish a paper on the subject, you must tell what you have done, or the editor wouldn't accept your text. So actually you are exposing your idea and so there is no way you can control the use of your algorithm anymore.I suggest that you develop your idea to a product or a prototype and then go talk to some other companies. What do you think about that?

  5. The name must be small enough to be easy to propagate among clients. But it must also identify strongly your company.Try something new, nothing with web, preferently. Maybe yours initials or the initials of the partners. In my case that would be HWRWI, not so good!!!!No, just kidding... haha! What do you think of Crepos? Frecos? Jorp? Lorter? Warper? Ninpo? Gustin? Binton? Azent? Perco? Sarium?Good luck!

  6. Well, i do a lot of things, for example:
I'm trying to learn to play accoustic guitar so i do as justin says:
Play some chords epetitively. Now i'm working in the transition from G to B. You can search in you tube his classrooms, his name is Justin Sandercoe, he's a good teacher.
Other thing to do is play some computer games on-line. There's a lot of free servers that have some fun on-line games.
You can also learn a new language. There 's a site in bbc which teachs the basics of some european languages. And some specific sites that teach german:
    http://www.deutsch-lernen.com/
    http://www.dw.com/en/top-stories/s-9097
    They are very good!
You could also of course see some funny videos or music clips in youtube.
Or try to learn some programing language.
    Have fun...

  7. I think that music should be free. Though the musicians also should have conditions to live well only with their work. So I don't know how could this be possible... Maybe the government should pay to musicians do their work... This way anybody could listen to music legally and all would pay. Perhaps musicians wouldn't like this approach as they might earn less...

  8. In Brazil we see a lot of unfair play, so it would be cool if there would be some kind of rule to limit the number of faults by player or by team. For example, the player can do at most 4 faults and them he would have to stay out of the field for 5 or 10 minutes for each new fault he makes. I don't know, what do u think?Beside this, I like the way substitutions are made in handball, maybe it could be the same in football.

  9. Well, I'm from Brazil  and you know, here football is the king of sports. Actually sometimes it is not only the king of sports but also the king of media, happiness, corruption, etc...Here all the little boys want to be a professional football player when he grows up, because this can change dramatically their lives. So the politicians and the media can manipulate a large part of the population through the use of it, taking attention of much more important things to our people. ^_^
