  1. hey you should learn php rather html because in most of the site php is only usedbut now also many use html
    but i prefer php
    all the best

You can't compare a markup language with PHP...

Anyway, it's definitely worth learning PHP if you really want to start web programming. It's useful to build dynamic sites, and you'll even be able to use database with it (like mySQL).

The fastest way to learn PHP is by simply doing it. Just download a project someone did and read through the source code and make changes to see what the effects are.

  2. I definitely don't hate school. It's a great way to make friends, and I know it's better than having a job, except for getting paid of course. I have a lot of fun every day at my school just being with them. And the teachers aren't that bad either. It is however becoming quite boring at school now because I'm in my exam period. So I am not learning anything new... All and all. I think school is probably one the best periods of your life :P

  3. Wow I didn't know Gamers-Fusion still even existed. I started with that a loooooong time ago when it had a HUUUUUGE amount of flaws. It helped me learn PHP a lot by fixing all the flaws. If you're really going to make a text MMORPG you should either start with a package and work from there. Or start completely clean, which is the long way of course. Either way if you need help with it, ask here on the forum and I'm sure you'll be helped :DEDIT:By the way, some think text MMORPG's are lame, but I played one which has over 100.000 players about now...

  4. Don't think it's possible, atleast not in this reality. :D Because as cyber_electrons said, even stars die, tho they're not even alive. I think everything has an amount of energy and someday there's just nothing left and you die. Increasing the amount of energy is probably not possible by so much that you can live forever. You would get pretty far if they were able to increase your life energy and decrease the amount of energy you use during day.

  5. Been using XAMPP for a long time now and before that I used seperate Apache, PHP and mySQL packages. It's great to be able to test your scripts on your pc, that way you can easily fix all of the bugs and after that just hit F5 to reload the page, instead of having to upload it each and every time.I just upload the final version of all my files and that's it..

  6. It's definitely not true that no one writes letters anymore, I know there every year still millions of letters go around, maybe even billions. And I don't know about other schools, but on my school we still have to learn how to write formal letters and such(on paper). I do agree that the amount of written letters has decreased. As it is easier to send an email. But on Christmas and other special days most people still send letters.

  7. I already found the first two links, even though the first one's download links don't work. I don't want to use some class that someone else made. :PI'm trying to solve a cubic equation, or a third degree equation, whichever you like. And at some part I have to take the root of a negative number..

  8. Just starting with long distance running, ran 12 km with ease. Only problem is that my legs hurt after that -.- The guy in the shoe store said it'd take 4-5 months for my legs to get used to the running. Pretty lame :P I want to know how far I can run :PI only run once a week for now, because I also do other sports A LOT. And I don't want running to be in my way while doing those.

  9. That is really nice. Companies are getting better in making synthetic intelligence. It's a big step for human kind.Although the best "intelligence" made by human nowadays can't even reach the class of a mosquito, this really is a big step.

I've seen all these movies where robots decide to take over and they destroy human kind like in terminator, matrix and I, Robot.
But still I can't imagine how robots could really take over.

For example let's think of a future robot which is asked to fill the glass with water.

It'll do the things that are programmed in it's artificial "brains":

    Open the faucet.
move the glass under the water.
wait untill the glass is full
when it's full, put the glass back on the table.

Alright, now it can't do this:

    Open the faucet.
move the glass under the water.
wait untill the glass is full
when it's full, put the glass back on the table.
    SLAP THE HUMAN'S FACE.

..UNLESS IT'S PROGRAMMED TO DO SO?

But it can do so if it's programmed to act accordingly to what the robot "thinks" is appropriate at that time. However, I don't think I'll be seeing robots that advanced in my lifetime... And I'm still young :P
