  1. I joined not long before Xisto took over. When I signed up, the credits were actually easy to understand. I liked it. The amount of features was pretty good too. Then Xisto came and everything changed. I signed up as soon as I got told of the new system. Somehow my signing up didn't get through and I later lost my account as a result. After jumping through a few hoops, things finally got working, but my account didn't last long.I like the forums, but I absolutely hate the Xisto hosting. I've given up trying to make sense of their "you have to buy eggs if you want bread" service. I never did get my questions about how hosting credits work in plain easy-to-understand english. Honestly - I think it's just random. The whole registration process was an absolute nightmare that wasn't worth it in the end, when credits just seem to disappear for no reason.I'm already hosting with another provider and much happier than I was when Xisto took over. No clue on how to stop them sending threat mail about "pay us or your account will be suspended" kind of stuff. I actually did go in to try and "top up" my account once (financially) but found that if paying through internet bank transaction, they would only accept no less than $100 (wtf!?!), I'd have to fill in this horror form of details and then I'd actually have to email them to let them know the transaction had been made.Xisto: what a #$%^&*$ mess.
  2. Hey, thanks for your post there. Knowing that it happened to someone in positive credits does seem to nail it down more. I've got a few tutorials and such I've been writing for Xisto, but was sure my problem was because I hadn't been quick enough... your post seems to indicate this may not be the issue. Can you please report back about whether "ordering" works and also, a few steps on making that order? I'd thought I'd done it a while back (right when version 3 was just made) but maybe it was something different.
  3. Hi. I've noticed my account animator.astahost.com has been suspended, probably because my cents run into the negatives as I've been really busy of late. How do I go about getting my site unsuspended etc?I'm pretty confused about the whole MyCents, MyEarnings and MyCredit thing. I asked before on various threads but pages of RTFM (and a few being arrogant about "you just have to RTFM" etc) haven't helped in the slightest... just left me confused as ever.I'm not even sure that my xisto account is the same as Xisto or not. When I log on with xisto, it says I have (cut and paste)...Account StatisticsNumber of Products/Services: 0 (0)Number of Domains: 0 (0)Number of Support Tickets: 0Number of Referred Signups: 0Account Credit Balance: $17.00Due Invoices Balance: $0.00Can someone please tell me (in plain English) what's up with the multiple credit thingamies, how much feedback equals in terms of cents or earnings or whatever and what my options are in terms of getting my site up again?Regards - Lancer.
  4. Owch, having made websites since the mid 90's - that makes me feel old. The guy behind weebls-stuff.com has is about the weirdest I've seen anywhere... Example: http://weebls-stuff.com/ Here he is again, with a more "live" take http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ This same guy is responsible of oddities like https://www.badgerbadgerbadger.com/ and the Weeble and Bob series: http://weebls-stuff.com/toons/pie-weebl-and-bob-ep001/
  5. Okay - I made the contact page image into a background. The solution was to add a style to the <TD> tag... <td style="height: 100%; background-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); vertical-align: top; background-image: url(img/contact.jpg); background-position: right bottom; background-repeat: no-repeat;" colspan="2" rowspan="2">I'm fairly confident it's a cross-browser friendly snippet.
  6. Thanks for the suggestions. How do I align a background image? It would be great to have things working for every browser of course, though in the case of Konqueror, I based my JavaScript off a CSS menu my friend wanted to use from http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/, which is supposed to be fairly compatable with what most visitors would be using (IE, Firefox, Opera, Safari). The original code is fairly cross browser but fails Konqueror, and I think the lady I've set this up for would want me to keep the effect as long as things work for IE, Firefox and Safari.
  7. I'd like some help please with a website I've been making for someone. The site is basically done, but there are a few glitches: http://guinevera.com/ On the Company >> contact details page (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/) I have used CSS to make an illustration go at the bottom right of the screen. The problem is, as browser size gets smaller, the image overlaps the text. I would like the text to overlap the image instead. How can I do this? Also, while the site looks fine in Firefox, Safari, Opera etc, when it comes to Internet Explorer, the page expands larget than the screen. It's all laid out on a big table of height 100%. for some reason, IE has a different idea of the 100% height. How can I make the table behave for all browsers? Thanks in advance to anyone who can assist.
  8. What's the "Ideal Plan" (the "don't abuse your powers" one)? Why is it insisting I have a domain name? I thought it would always be username.astahose.com
  9. You're not the only one lost. I know I signed up with Xisto, well in advance after one of BuffaloHelp's posts. Yes, I have myCents and myEarnings, and my site runs just fine. My original hosting plan (from old system) was the one I had to earn the most credits to ask for. However, on the "Products and Services" page, it shows a table with "no records found". ...maybe I missed the "order" section and for some reason my old site is up anyway?
  10. Okay then... thanks for the info. As of now the bit I don't understand is how myEarnings adds up to a seemingly imprecise "1.99$ - 5.95$". I would like to derive a formula where I can put the current myEarnings into it and know how much longer my account can stay up.
  11. Okay, thanks for the answers... So I take it MyEarnings is the important one for working out how long before my hosted site runs out of credit... like, if I have $20 MyEarnings, then my site is "safe" for 20 days?
  12. What's the difference between MyCents and MyEarnings and which one says how many days to go before my site runs out of credit?
  13. Kewl - someone's thinking of me! Yeah transparent sigs are a bit of a pain really. You either have hard unantialiased transparency (GIF) or one that's not going to work in all browswer (PNG) or you fake the transparency like I've done just matching everything to what the known background is. Themes would alter this, but then if there were themes I'd opt to make it work best with the common default. Thanks for the effort you've been putting into this.
  14. Yeah - this colouring is much more sensible than the bright blue that was up this morning. Hope the Admin don't chance colours too often... I keep having to change my sig image to match each time.
  15. Thanks.Remade my sig for this colour (other one was probably a tad biggish anyway), uploaded replacement avatar for last one which had disappeared....your own Avatar has soft transparency because it's a PNG... am I right in thinking it won't show in some browsers?
