yes, you can!In fact, the most hard part for me is there are too many MS Office users.And I can't write Word document under Linux.
open ofice is as good as ms office...bt you can stil emulate ms office with Crossover Office.
I use Linux and I'm very glad i'm not using windows any more!
best linux for newbies is Mandrake
