Do You Dream In Black & White Or Color?
Jephthah replied to GrinningKittie's topic in General Discussion
I dream in color. I don't recall any dreams that I've had that were in black and white... but then again, I don't clearly remember many of my dreams. It's rather fascinating, too. I mean, what makes some people dream in black and white and some in color? -
Jephthah's Domain Tell me what you think
Jephthah replied to Jephthah's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Thank you for the replies! I realize it's not the most flashy website out there. You should have seen the first layout I had... this is a fairly drastic improvement. During this summer I'm planning on redesigning it so it's not so black and it's more appealing to the eye. Ideally, it'd be nice when you see it you think, "Oh, cool!" That's a pretty lofty goal, but that's what I'm hoping. Thanks again! -
Ezyrewards, Free Domains No jip, no rip, all real.
Jephthah replied to rejected's topic in General Discussion
I've used ezyrewards for about 2 years to buy/renew my domain name and it's been great. It doesn't take that long to fill out the offers (most don't require a credit card) and I got a couple referrals. Someone earlier asked about how much referrals give you. For each point your referral gets, you get it too. It's a 1:1 ratio. Basically, it rocks. I'm almost positive that's against their policy. They would like you to get real referrals. Though... maybe it isn't. It just seems like a dishonest thing to do and that I read it somewhere. If you just post the referral link on your website or forum somewhere, it isn't too hard to get a referral. Concerning actually getting the domain name, ezyrewards just gives you the exact credit you need at optinom to purchase a .com domain name. You could use that credit to buy whatever you wanted at optinom, it just makes sense for you to use it for a .com. That also explains if it's in your name. Whether you buy it with a credit card or with the credit that they give you from ezyrewards -- it's all the same. The actual process of buying the domain name is the same, you just already have the money needed to purchase it. -
Mozilla Firefox Poll Give your view about the FireFox browser
Jephthah replied to yasir's topic in The Internet
I used Internet Explorer (6) for about a year or so when I was first using the internet regularly. I was basically forced to stop using it and switch to Firefox because of the extensive amount of spyware that ended up on my computer. Granted, it wasn't all IE's fault, but consequently when I switched to Firefox, the spyware and popups suddenly didn't happen, and I could use the internet overall faster. Not to mention all the great add-ons that Firefox has that IE doesn't. Though, IE7 is catching up to the awesomeness of Firefox. It now has tabbed browsing and some add-ons. But, overall Firefox is still my one and only browser. -
That sounds exactly like me. In fact, the other day one of my good friends online was talking to me on AIM and was getting on to me for always typing with correct grammar and correcting myself when I messed up. He wanted me to not capitalize everything and "relax" while I was typing in chat because apparently it wasn't "normal" to type so compulsively correct. It was really hard to not type correctly... I think I did for like 5 lines and then quickly reverted back to capitalization and punctuation. I'm a perfectionist, and always have been. My desk in my room is very organized (except for one drawer that I stick everything in) and I like to have everything in it's place. I like finally having my own computer so I can organize everything how I want it to be. I don't think I have everything as organized as you have it with folders, but everything has it's own place. I usually don't like having excess mail in my inbox, but lately I haven't been able to decide where to put a lot of the e-mail that I get so it's been getting cluttered. I've been meaning to go through it all and organize it... I remember once while I was playing a MMO, I was organizing all of my items in my pack so that my clothes were together, weapons, and other tidbits that went together were all organized so that I could find it easily. I asked my clan members if any of them did that, and they laughed and called me OCD. LOL... I think it was then that I realized I was more organized than the average person. Anyhow, know that you definitely aren't alone.

Java Exercise Help I need help to understand this question
Jephthah replied to sonesay's topic in Programming
Does it say anywhere above that what lots exactly is? I don't see where it came from or what it is.The only thing I can gather from the question is that they want you to make lots a dynamic list rather than a static array so that you can remove and add in the middle without having to shift everything after it. Though, I don't see anywhere in the getLot method where they are actually shifting anything... so I don't see how they want you to change it.Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I hate it when I have questions like those to do. -
Paranormal Activity Ever had a paranormal experience?
Jephthah replied to Thing's topic in General Discussion
I've always been interested in this kind of thing, but have never had anything really freaky that's as fun to read as some of these stories. Though, I have had a couple. There was one night that I was in my bathroom across the hall from my room while my CD player was playing in my room quietly. I had just finished brushing my teeth, when I suddenly heard my CD player turn up really loud. I walked into my room slowly and didn't see anything. (of course) I calmly picked up the remote to my CD player and tried to turn down the volume since it was somewhat late at night and people were trying to sleep, but it didn't work. It was still loud! So, I had to walk over and manually turn down the volume. About a minute later the same thing happened, and I turned it down again. I've had that CD player for about 4 or 5 years before that and nothing like that had ever happened, and nothing has happened since. Now, I know that technology always seems suspicious with these types of stories. Sometimes electricity can make odd things happen without anything paranormal attached, but I can tell you that at the time I was pretty freaked out. Keep the stories coming! They're fun to read. -
I took 17 hours last semester, and started this semester with 17 hours again. I was nervous to start a semester with that kind of work load, but if I just never slept then it worked out fine. :)No, really, I ended up actually doing very well. Granted, it was my first semester in college so my classes were probably a lot easier than my classes will be as I get further and further into my degrees (I'm also attempting a double major). I don't know, I guess prioritizing and knowing when to take a breather, and when to just buckle down and work on something. Like today is more of a breather day. But, try not to have two in a row... because then it'll be a habit and you'll bomb your math test like Togi said. I don't think I'm being very helpful. I also didn't have a job last semester, so that probably helped. Though, I did just get a job this semester (14 hours a week) so maybe I'll completely lose it by the end of the semester like it looks like you did/have.I keep telling myself that I just need to get through the next 4 years or so and then I'll finally be able to "relax."You can do it!

I attend Brigham Young University (go Cougars!) and am in my second semester. I'm technically a sophomore by credit, but I'm only in my second semester.Right now I'm planning on double majoring in Music Education (secondary instrumental) and Computer Science. But, that may of course all change. I'm hoping to be able to finish it.

My primary instrument is the oboe, but I can also play some french horn and simple stuff on the piano. :)I wish I could pay guitar... that would be really cool.

Creating Clones Via Time Travel A theory involving time machines
Jephthah replied to Vera's topic in Science and Technology
LOL... that is a great theory. I've never thought about cloning via Back To the Future style. I'm not sure I'd want an army of me. Like you said, it would get confusing and we would all have to share my (our) significant other. It'd be like some variation of polygamy. (odd) I don't think I'd have the guts to risk it. Though, that would be a good way to test the "nature or nurture" argument that's been around for ages. If it was really you as a baby and then put your baby self with another family and see how you turn out. Or if you really wanted kids but had no spouse or significant other, you could go back and grab yourself as a baby and raise yourself! You'd get a taste of what your parents had to go through. -
Here's my philosophy: why not? I definitely believe in life after death, and it seems like it would just be down right depressing to not believe in it. What would be the point in living? I've thought through all of this before. There was a time in my life when I wasn't sure what I believed, and then when I thought about it it seemed silly to not believe in it. Just think of it this way, if there is a life after death and you believe in it, then yay! If there isn't a life after death and you believed in it, then there's nothing bad that comes from believing in it. If there is a life after death and you don't believe in it... then the life after death might not be as happy as it could be. Not to say that everyone who doesn't believe in God or life after death is a bad person, but it seems like if you didn't believe in a life after death then you wouldn't live your life to it's fullest potential because you wouldn't feel there would be a need to. Just my thoughts. Though, something else that's related. What about a life before Earth? Did we all live before our lives here on Earth? I certainly believe in that as well. If we are going somewhere after death... why not be it the place that we came from before life?

I have my own website that I've had for 2 or 3 years. I still haven't really decided what it's about or what it's for. I just put up random things that I get interested in. That in itself might make it not very good since it doesn't really have a focus, but oh well. It started as an independent study in my English class to teach myself HTML, and I just never had the heart to give it up. Since then I've learned a little PHP and made some databases to use with it. I've put a lot of work into this site, and I always like to hear input about it. I definitely know that it isn't the best website out there (despite what I might say every now and then ), and I'm welcome to constructive criticism. So, tell me what you think! EDIT: That's a good idea. LOL... here we go: http://www.jephthahs-domain.com/

Hello there! My (user)name is Jephthah, and I'm (obviously) new here. I'm currently attending college in Utah planning on double majoring in Music Education and Computer Science. Though, I'm only a freshman (well, sophomore technically by credit... but it's my second semester) and haven't gotten into the real meat of the majors yet. I'm hoping to retain some portion of my sanity by the time I graduate. :PJust reading the rules/guidelines of the forum made me excited to join it. I know I've had my fair share of forums full of spam and people simply wanting a big post count. I can tell here they take spam very seriously and want real discussions. That's awesome. I hope to be a positive contribution to the forum.
