  1. How to remove PageFile after Windows Shutdown

     

    1- Go to Start Menu > Click on Run and then type "regedit" and press ok to run Windows Registry Editor

    2- Go to following Address:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory
    3- In the right panel double click on ClearPageFileAtShutdown and give it value of 1

    4- Close Windows Registry Editor and restart your computer.

  3. How to disable downloading files in Internet Explorer

     

    This tip is useful for network administrators; users no longer can download files in internet explorer

    1- Go to Start menu > run and then type regedit to run Windows Registry Editor

    HKEY-CURRENT-USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\InternetSetting\Zone\3
    3- Double click on 1803 and give it value of 3 and press OK

  5. How to restrict options in Internet Explorer

     

    1- Go to Start Menu > Run and type gpedit.msc and then press OK.

    2- In the left Panel click on " User Confguration" and then click on "Administrative Templates".

    3- Go to Explorer > Browser Menus Windows Componenets > nternet.

    4- In the right panel, double click on Tools Menus:Disable Internet Option .... Menu Option and then select Enable.


  6. How to remove ALL PROGRAMS from Start Menu

     

    1- Click on Start menu > click on RUN and type "regedit" and then press OK to open Windows Registry Editor.

    2- Go to following address:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies
    3- Create a new DWORD and name it as "NoStartMenuMorePrograms", and give it value of 1 to remove All Program from Start Menu.

    To Remove default icons such as My Documents, My Music, My Pictures, Favorites and Recent Docs Menu from Start menu do following:

    1- Go to Start menu > click on RUN and then type regedit to run Windows Registry Editor.

    2- Go to following address:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
    3- There are some entries such as: NoFavoritesMenu ،NoSMMyPictures ،NoStartMenuMyMusic, NoSMMyDocs .To remove each icon change value to 1.

    4- Close Windows Registry Editor and restart your computer

    As you know Windows XP hides passwords in dialup popup window, to show password in Dialup window:

    1- Click start menu > click on Run and type "regedit" to run Windows Registry Editor.

    2- Go to following address:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SYSTEM?CurrentControlSet- Modify Services--RasMan?Parameters
    3- Create a new DWORD entry, name it as DisableSavePassword. Give it value of 1.

     

    How to display Windows Built in number on desktop

    To display Windows Built in number on desktop do following:

    1- Click start menu > click on Run and type "regedit" to run Windows Registry Editor.

    2- Go to following address:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\CONTROL PANEL\DESKTOP
    3- On the right panel , double click on PaintDesktopVersion, set Hexadecimal value to 1.

    4- Close Windows Registry Editor and Log off your account and log in again.

     

    How to disable Windows Registry Editor( regedit)

    To disable Windows Registry Editor for ever do following:

    1- Click start menu > click on Run and type "regedit" to run Windows Registry Editor.

    2- Go to following address:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
    3- Create a new DWORD value and name it as DisableRegistryTools and give it value of 1.

    4- Close Windows Registry Editor and restart your computer.

    NOTE: You never can open Windows Registry Editor( regedit) again

  9. Windows XP doesn't recognize your computer's DVD-ROM or CD-ROM?

     

    Some times after installing Microsoft Windows XP, it doesn't recognize your DVD-ROM or CD-ROM. To resolve this problem do following;

    1- Click Start Menu > Run > type "regedit" and press OK to open Windows Registry Editor.

    2- Go to following Address:

    H_L_M\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{3d36e965-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}
    3- In Registry menu select "Export Registry File" to make a Backup from your registry entry.

    4- If there is "UpperFilters" or " LowerFilters" keys, delete them.

    5- Close Windows Registry Editor and reset your Computer.

    6- Go to Control Panel > click System > go to HardWare tab and click on Device Manager button.

    7- In Device Manager list, click on Device marked with "?" , from Action Menu select Uninstall and press ok to uninstall device.

    8- From Action menu select "Scan for hardware changes" to Scan your system and install DVD-ROM or CD-ROM.


  10. How to show file extensions in windows XP

     

    With this you can change extension of some files, be careful!

    1- In My Computer select > Tools > and then Folder Option

    2- Go to View tab and unmark "Hide extensions".

    3- Click OK to show file extensions.

    Note: when you rename files, be careful to type file extensions too.
