  1. I have a Mobiblu cube MP3 player (which I reviewed Here)  And I really like it.  I think from what you posted you are probably looking for something bigger at least in size.  The mobiblu is really small.

One nice alternative to the ipod nano/mini is the creative zen micro. If you want a hard drive based player.

My suggestion is to think about what you will use it for most.  If you want something for the gym/running etc.. then go with a small flash based player.  If you want to dump your whole music collection on it and use it for general low intensity listening, then go with a hd based larger player.

Ipods are definetely better than the cube MP3 players. They have 30 gagabyte and 60 gigabyte models, plus the ability to download videos from their video store and play them, plus play photos. For just 300 bucks, they're great deals.

  2. Google has recently released a few beta services that I think are awesome. Here's info on these new services.

    1. Google Print

Google has recently released a new service called "Google Print". It lets users search for books and read limited portions of them. If they like the books, they have the option to buy the book. Google makes no profit off of this except for advertising.

    2. Google's personalized home pages

Google has released customizable, personalized home pages. If you have a Google Account, you may create one of these personalized home pages. You can get instant email inbox previews, read Google news or Slashdot news, get weather info with 3 day forecasts, get quotes from famous people, and get movie ratings and reviews right on your home page. And of course, you can perform searches with the Google search engine.

    3. Search History

Alot of people are not aware of this, but if you get a Google Account, you can save your search history while you're logged in! This is convenient, because you don't have to type the same thing over and over again if you search for particular things frequently. It also has a color-coded calendar that shows how many searches you've done on each particular day.

    4. Unlimited Email Space

Yeah, this has been around since April 1st, but alot of people thought it was an April Fool's day joke. I'm here to tell you that it's not. The maximum storage space of all Gmail accounts is increasing right now, as you read this thread! I've had Gmail since August of 2004, and I've only used 10 MB of my 2200+ MB though...

That's all of the recent features google has rolled out. If, in the future, Google creates new features that I think are cool, I'll mmake a new thread with all of the juicy details of their future services.

    Opinions?

  3. My favorite online game is a game called RuneScape. It's an MMORPG created by a company called Jagex Ltd. You can be a warrior and fight with swords or spears, you can be a ranger (archer) and fight with several different types of bows and arrows, or you can be a mage (wizard) and fight with mystical rocks called Runes, and learn spells like Fire Bolt and teleport spells.

The graphics are decent for a java game, there's no download reuired, and you can play unlimited for free at http://www.runescape.com/ all you want! The music's also cool, too.

RuneScape is also updated every week or two, so there are always new challenges to partake in!

  4. I don't think cloning is ethical. Consider this....There can be several birth defects and problems with the cloned person's immune system. He probably would be severely mutated, or he would not be able to survive very long. All we would be doing is creating a miserable life for someone to live. It would be sad. I'm against cloning unless we can find a way to perfect it.

  5. I hate how animals can just be killed if they're not adopted. True, it helps to spay and neuter your pets (and I encourage all pet owners with dogs or cats that are around 6 mos. of age to do so!) but if you can't afford it, where do you turn to? We adopted our puppy (I shouldn't say puppy - she's a pudgy 2 year old with more brains than a few of my friends) from the animal shelter: a far better alternative than going purebreed shopping, in my mind. They had gotten her an appointment to be spayed with the Houston SPCA, where they did it for only $30. Which is definitely worth it! A lot of male dogs are on the prowl in our neighborhood.
I've visited a couple of no-kill shelters and I'm surprised at how much love the owners shower on their pets. These are victims of abuse, of neglect, of torture, the likes of which we humans may never understand. And yet, even the sweetest of animals can go to be euthanized on a whim. If they're not adopted in time, they may never brighten anyone's lives.

No animal asks to be chained up and caged away. No animal ever wants to be neglected. It just happens. And that's one of many cruelties that humankind has put on animals.

Anyways, yes, I hate it. If an animal is in pain, I would put it out of its misery. But if an animal is spry and healthy, yet there is no room for it, I would never have the heart to kill it. Knowing me, I'd probably bring it home and keep it, come hell or highwater.

    Anyways...yeah, I strayed off the topic a bunch :/

Yeah, i agree with your point of view on this situation. Maybe they should give the animal away for free if they're considering killing it instead of actually killing the animal. It would make somebody's life more enjoyable. (The animal wouuld be more happy too)

  6. Aww man you didn't put RuneScape as an option! RuneScape's the coolest RPG out there, i like it more than any other game on Earth. It's a very cool game, you should check it out. And best of all.... IT'S FREE! (Unless you want to subscribe to be a member for $5 a month to unlock new skills like theiving, herblore, and arrowmaking) Check it out it is awesome.

  7. It sounds kind of like your brother has an extremely bad drug abuse problem. Maybe you should request that your parents take him to a counseling porgram, or some kind of camp or drug resistance program to help him restore his life back to it's normal state.I'm sure your brother would feel alot better physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually if you and/or your parents found some way to control his atrocious(sp?) drug addiction habit. Maybe he can start living a normal life again if his drug habits were eliminated.I hope that provided some sort of advice or encouragement. I really hope your brother does well.
