prashrb replied to Vyoma's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Wow, it's amazing! :PAnd a good tutorial too! -
first of all check if you have enabled dual monitor support. Right-click on the desktop and go to properties. In the property window, under the tab called advanced, choose your primary device as ATI X700.Now plug ur monitor to the video card and restart the machine. if you can see the display, ur problem is 90% solved. Now install video driver and direct X, and start ur gaming.

These machines have become essential for any business. The more we need accuracy and speed in information, the more we are dependent on these machines. But of course living without the computer goes back to the stone age. :PIt's not we can't survive without it, computers only adds enhancement on information storage and retrieval.P.S. I'm speaking in the point of Business drive. my answer is not apt for game freaks and animators.

I found ZBrush the most efficient for modeling. It's easier to handle than other softwares, and don't need much hardware resources. you check this site, http://pixologic.com/ The reality achieved is phenomenal.

The Best Database What do you think is the best database?
prashrb replied to volrathxiii's topic in Programming
any database should be fine as long as there's a support for SQL!At the same time, choosing the right database for your application matters a lot. MySQL for web applications is one of the best choice. If one is working under .NET platform, SQL Server is recommended. So it's totally with the developer what he choose to.I've been using MySQL quite long. Now I'm exporting my database to SQL Server, as I found I need an upgrade. -
Vienna is still under production, if I'm not wrong. it was planned to get ready in 2011. *not sure*I'm wondering why such a long gap after Vista which released early this year. One gotta wait a long way to get the first hand on Vienna.

With the release of IE7, and its built-in support for RSS, this just might be the coming of age for RSS technology.RSS has been around for some time now. It has, however, found acceptance only in tech-heavy circles. I've myself been using RSS for a year now - started with Google Ig, then used Opera RSS reader, and lately have been using Netvibes for reading RSS.RSS holds obvious advantages over email. The non-intrusive pull-mechanism, as opposed to the email push-mechanism, makes RSS somewhat resistant to spam. Managing the feeds becomes easier since they are often categorized at the source itself. RSS can have multi-layered data, so how much a viewer wishes to see also can be controlled. The device / platform the user wishes to see the feeds on would also be very flexible. There would also be a significant drop in bandwidth usage; since readers would decide what to download and what to not.Email has had a good long run. It's time for RSS to take over.

Guruji - The Indian Search Engine was launched today. Backed by Sequoia Capital India, this one looks to be a real big launch. It has kind of a minimalist googley feel to it. The search results are still a little raw, but one would expect that to improve with time. The intention, they say , is to create a search engine which returns Indian results only. Their proprietary search crawlers judge whether a site is Indian or not and then decides to include or exclude that site from the index. Interesting! I did a few test searches : # "yahoo" returned mail.yahoo.com as the #1 result # "google" returned google.co.in as #1 # "youtube" returned a blog from bloggersblog.com as #1 followed by 3 .info spammy looking results # "wikipedia" returned kn.wikipedia.org (Kannada edition) at #1, and curiously enough de.wikipedia.org (German edition) at #3. # "orkut" returned a blog as #1 - no orkut.com till #10 I'm a little confused. What exactly is Indian in those results? Indian is too vague a concept. Youtube, Wikipedia, and Orkut are very popular with Indian surfers and do have a lot of Indian content. Why then, weren't they indexed? This is the real clincher - Check what you get when you search for guruji. Bottomline : Site does have potential, but many issues need to be urgently ironed out.

Google today released their Custom Search Engine, which enables anyone to create their own search engine. You can specify sites to include, sites not to include, keywords to emphasize, modify the look and feel, even earn money through Adsense. I'm impressed. There have been attempts in the past - Rollyo, Eurekster and Yahoo have tried similar services, but have either been too small or too unspectacular to have worked. Google, being the largest player in the traditional search space, is a natural favorite in this space, and in all probabilty will emerge soon as the clear leader. Where does this leave the vertical search startups? Bixee, Guruji, Sidestep.com, Oodle.com - to name a few. What stops me - with a few fellow volunteers - from creating a vertical search engine that could rival, and perhaps better, some of the existing vertical search products. The hosting costs would be zero, the algorithm would be Google's, there would be no need for sneaky botting type techniques, no legal liability ?, a pre-existing index of websites . . . How could one possibly compete with that? Moral : If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

TCP/IP in more technically way a connection oriented communication link. There's another protocol called UDP (User Defined Protocol) which is a connectionless protocol TC/ IP in brief: The Internet protocol suite is the set of communications protocols that implements the protocol stack on which the Internet and many commercial networks run. It is part of the TCP/IP protocol suite, which is named after two of the most important protocols in it: the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and the Internet Protocol (IP), which were also the first two networking protocols defined. A review of TCP/IP is given under that heading. Note that today's TCP/IP networking represents a synthesis of two developments that began in the 1970's, namely LAN's (Local Area Networks) and the Internet, that revolutionalised computing. and I hope, this link will help http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transmission_Control_Protocol

Blu-ray News and considerations about this new technology
prashrb replied to blackrabit's topic in Science and Technology
Guys, look at the cost of the Blue-Ray drive and the medias, they are far expensive than the DVD's,technically, it sounds 1 BRD = 30 CD's = 5 DVD'seconomically, it sounds cost of 1 BRD = cost of 100 CD's = cost of 50 DVD'sHope, I'm proving still the DVD's are still cheaper, in-spite of lower capacity as compared with BR-Disc! -
Unfortunately our guys were out in the first qualification round. Anyway, my support to Srilanka!!! WEIRD rite!

You change the location of the system directory of the new operating system, in your case Vista to a new location. I'll strongly recommend to use a separate partition as a new location for the second operating system.

please do take a look at the new search engine... guruji.com developed by IITians optimized for search within India and anything related with the country. Cheers to the founders!

I'll personally recommend to use Fedora Core 5. it does supports Call of Duty. You may take a look at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ But, I don't understand the logic, how a windows server can be slower.. Please tune it before you leap to linux.

Imageshack Or Photobucket?
prashrb replied to Unregistered 012's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I use photobucket, it's easy to use.. and was pretty comfortably settled. It's not just photo sharing, it also features video sharing. It's really impressive on the first look. Never tried Imageshack. Certainly, I'll try out once, and then post my comments on imageshck
