Don't forget BitTorrent 4.0.0.0 was released the other day, so was BitComet 0.57, so the other clones will (soon) switch to the 4.0 codebase as well.

The next step is 'multi-core' where the # of cores can be 4, 8 or even 16. I think massive-parallel is coming to the desktop!

I checked my Gmail and it wasn't there. Do you think it's part of a closed beta feature test that's enabled for just a limited set of accounts? Perhaps it's to facilitate wireless access to your Gmail from a phone or PDA?Did you check your mailbox for an e-mail from the Gmail team?

This reminds me of a Sci-Fi series called "Space: Above and Beyond" that had so-called "Tanks", people that were grown in tanks instead of being born. They were believed to have no souls. What is a soul? How does it get into a fetus and at what time? Does a soul fit into a single cell (fertilized egg), or does it need a number of cells to "fit"? And if the DNA is replaced (i.e. cloned) inside this fertilized egg, does that have any effect on souls? What is the relevance of souls if all you're interested in is cloning stemcells, needed to repair damaged body parts?

Right now I'm using my old trusted Palm m505, and it still does what I need it for. This iPaq looks nice but I'm afraid it's too expensive. I'll be using the m505 until it breaks, and then probably will be looking at a Linux PDA. There's one huge advantage to having a digital camera built in though: when you have a brainstorm session using a simple whiteboard, all you need to do is take a couple of pictures when you're done and work it out at your leisure afterward, instead of scribbling it down.

I'm wondering about the "simple" part that's mentioned in the guide.My site still uses FONT FACE and I've been told it's better to abandon this and go with CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) instead. I know that is of course true from a webdesign point of view, but how about the search engine point of view?I mean that means going to HTML 4.01 Transitional instead of HTML 3.2 right?

To me it sounds they copied a mechanism that was in SCSI drives called "Tagged Command Queueing" which basically did the same thing.NCQ only works with Serial ATA, not Parallel ATA plus your controller must support it as well. Intel ICH6R (915 and 925X chipsets) supports it. People have reported problems with TCQ and the nForce4 chipset, so before you buy (or enable) make sure your controller works fine with it. NCQ is still good news because- everyone is moving to SATA II anyway- NCQ works great with hyperthreading / multi-core CPUs (also a new trend).

I'm using the same kind of mouse as burex: Microsoft's Wheel Mouse Optical. It's nearly indestructable with normal use. In fact my desk is showing more signs of wear than the mouse.What's just as important is the optional mouse driver. I've used both Logitech's MouseWare and Microsoft's IntelliPoint driver with it. I've had a couple of problems with a freezing system so kept it at IntelliPoint (it turned out it wasn't related but rather the graphics driver).Right now I'm using the third mouse button (wheel click) to open up url's in a new tab in FireFox, so the driver isn't as important anymore.

If you need to convince people why a Gmail account is better than a hotmail account, just point to the fact that on Gmail, you can enable POP3 and use Mozilla Thunderbird to read and write mail at home AND use the web interface at e.g. work.The POP interface allows you to "leave messages on server" (since you have 1GB anyway). This means you have a backup of your messages on your home system (in case Google has an 'accident') and one on Gmail server (in case your own HD crashes).

I'm in favour of cloning because it's a step towards the ultimate goal: a near unlimited lifespan for human beings.Your body is basically a biological machine. There's a couple of destructive mechanisms at work that will make you grow old, some are coded into DNA, others are chemical in nature and others are the result of entropy.Cloning is a step towards creating stemcells that are necessary to regenerate other cells. It will also create the necessary knowledge toward repairing DNA on a massive scale in a living human body.The ultimate goal is a near unlimited lifespan. When this has been achieved, we will finally be able to think in a broader perspective, you don't have to rush anymore, it's important to take care of the environment, and a 300 year trip to another world doesn't seem so long anymore.Just my $0.02.

I own a Palm m505, when I got it colour displays were new ;c)Anyway, for me the most useful programs are:- Agendus (which used to be called Act! Names),- Zingware's AddressPro- Yaps (to securely store passwords and any other kind of information)- AvantGO (to read some website content offline)- BigClock (nice for when in the cradle and it supports week numbers)- SilverScreen- and last but not least: HappyDays (it uses a field in the address book for people's birthdates and it helps to remind of who has a birthday coming up and their age).The PDA is most useful if you have to keep track of a lot of appointments, and ToDo's ("I'll call you back at 1" -> put in Palm, set an alarm = don't forget it). I've found I never miss things like that anymore; I do forget them sometimes but the Palm reminds me.
