I think it's much more difficult when put in practice. I suspect either choosing to indoctrinate or not presenting anything at all would be the easiest to implement. It's up to the family to decide, nobody is going to create any sort of regulation on this matter.

I have a lack of respect for those who believe in the Jesus-myth theory. It does not take much effort to acknowledge the historical documents and the circumstantial evidence. I hold Jesus-mythicists in the same respect as Holocaust deniers.

Time slows down because humans are able to process more information in the same amount of time. I'm not sure what the exact numbers are, or if they are even known, but let us assume that the brain under controlled conditions processes 30 frames per second of visual information. Under the influence of adrenaline, systems come into play that increase the number of frames per second -- let us assume 60 for this example. If the brain is to go through 60 fps in the same amount of time it would with 30 fps, an illusion would be created where it would seem like time slowed down. Google around for a better explanation.

You wouldn't seem to, but if you were in a region of space which was moving [edit] the combined velocity would make it seem to an outside observer that you are moving faster than light. Although, if I remember correctly, the video said something about you disappearing from sight to the outside observer. I can't remember the title of it. Well, it's a waste of time unless you take AP/IB classes. You can get college credit if you pass the tests. You can acquire a group of contacts that may prove useful in the future. I could start community college in Algebra II as the OP did, or I can start it with math 21 (multivariate calculus). Either way, I would not have saved much time. The same would apply to many other classes. Add to that about 50 units required for Molecular Biology / Biochemistry AND at least 24 for your IGETC, and you could have fun doing a transfer. Also, if you want to go to medical school or any grad. school, your GPA better be good, especially for med. school. 3.5 GPA freshman year isn't going to cut it when you have a full serving of OChem, Chem, Calc, Stats, Bio, and Physics coming, with IGETC on top of it.

Maximize your time in school by asking questions and responding to answers. For taking notes, you have to identify what kind of learner you are. For me, writing down notes in my own words inside a composition book that I can refer back to worked fairly well. If something was not understood, the response was something like the following: problem->notes->Google->book->classmates->teacher. Also, I've found that teaching other students helped me remember the concepts a lot. Cramming works when done before final tests, but not for every test and quiz. It's like a temporary burst of information that you will forget in about a week.Try the suggestions that people put here. If something works, keep doing it. If not, try something else. High school is the time to find out what works for you in terms of studying, not college. The key is to work smarter, not harder. I feel sorry for the kids who are forced to stare for hours into their books by their parents. It's a complete waste of time. Learn to control your anxiety. Doing bad on a test is not going to be the end of the world. Learn to not worry about it. Once you've studied and feel like you've put in decent effort, do something you enjoy. Read a book, watch TV, hang out with friends. Also, get a good night's sleep. If it means having to stop cramming midway through a chapter, do so.

Depends where I want to go. I can get $20,000 of scholarships and grants, excluding the academic scholarships I can receive when I go to a UC school. For private schools, they do their own thing, however, the scholarships are usually pretty good. For instance, if one attends Stanford and their income is below $100,000, they receive a full-ride scholarship. I'm not exactly sure on the details, such as if there are limitations (ex. won't pay for books) but will definitely pay for tuition and on-campus housing, etc.

This sort of goes along with the previous quote. I don't believe in God because I want to, I do so because I am compelled to come to such a conclusion based upon my research and experience. The afterlife objection fails when you bring deists into the equation. For the most part, they don't expect any sort of afterlife, but still believe in a deity. Fear cannot be used as the motive.

My criteria for sexy are the following: intelligence, looks, and personality. Intelligence - being able to carry on a conversation about a topic which 95% of people are completely uninformed on (and having an actual interest in the first place!). Looks - the usual, with an emphasis on eye color and hair. Personality - not easy to explain, it either clicks or it doesn't.The traditional "sexy by looks" does work with me, I can't really comment on whether someone is sexy or not without meeting them first.
