I have used Google desktop, Yahoo desktop and now msn desktop searching tools. I find it yahoo desktop search very useful. It simplifies my most of the work. I don?t have to open a file to see its content. By giving extension name in the type field I can search any types of files, while in google & msn it limits to certain common formats like, E-mail, Excel, Powerpoint etc.Does anyone know any better & safe desktop search engine? Please let me know.

I have installed Borgchat freeware software available on internet. It works remarkably very well. By using this I can chat across LAN, send messages on Board, and even send & receive files. It also shows the status of user when they becomes available or away, joined or left the network.I have also tried NetMsg LAN chatting freeware software but in my experience it is not better than Borgchat.Does anyone know any better LAN chatting freeware software. In all the above mentioned Software, one has to install the software on each of the computer. Does any software exists through which I can send message to each of the user without installing it on other computer?

I am having five computers in my LAN and one broadband internet connection is being shared among all the computers having Windows XP pre-installed. I want to install software which will keep track of the usage of internet on each of the computer for uploading and downloading volumes.I have tried one of the software PRTG Traffic Grapher V4 available on the internet but its limit is only one computer and also does not meet my complete requirement. I haven?t set up any proxy servers. If anyone knows any freeware software which can solve my problem, please reply me.

I want to install Linux over windows XP. I have already partitioned my hard disk during my installation of Windows XP.I have tried Yopera. After booting from the CD of Yopera I get message ?select the disk on which you want to install the Yopera?, which shows only one disk volume. After that I stopped the installation. I don?t know whether my existing Hard disk partition I may be able to install Linux or not. I am afraid if my existing partition gets deleted by doing so.Please suggest me, how can I install Linux and which Linux is better, because I have seen so many versions of Linux available on internet.

I want to install PHP. For this I have downloaded Apache Server. But I am not able to configure it. If anybody knows how to configure it, please let me know. Without Apache Server I am not able to configure PHP.I have also tried one of the installation file available on internet which automatically performs all installation tasks, but it also does not solve my problem.

I want to build my website which requires database support. What tools should I use and which one will be better for developing the website?Is HTML, Jscript, VBscript is enough or I have to learn any additional scripting? I know SQL, how can I implement these things altogether? I have seen that Xisto - Support mysql database support. I have installed windows version of mysql, will it do my job.

I wanted to know about the differences between C# and JAVA, will C# can be used in place of JAVA, which one will be more popular. In my knoledge Microsoft launched Visual Studio with VJ++, the core JAVA along with added feature was introduced and the IDE along with other features similar to that is being used in .NET platform. Now the VJ++ has been gone from there new VS.NET. I am talkiing about the C# specifically not about all other packeges which is being used in .NET platform. I am talking about CLR for C#(or .NET) and JVM. C# borrows the best from Java and improvements have been added, just like Java improved upon previous languages. Further suggestion are invited.

I don't think any version of windows xp sp3 has been announced in any Newspaper. However, in all leading newspaper and advertisements Windows XP SP2 is being mentioned as the genuine windows xp operating system. They have written that Windows xp which comes with SP2 is the only genuine operating system. However, if anyone can tell me when will the new version longhorn will be launched and what will be the added features in longhorn. Can anybody try its beta version by downloading.

I don't know why microsoft always try to dominate in the software field. The JAVA which has gave us the concept of pure object-oriented technology and platform independency, I think microsoft has utilised the same concept in developing their new language C# by introducing Common Language Runtime (CLR). Not only in programming languages, but also in the field of media players, microsoft has copied some of the features of real player, winamp and others and has launched a new version of windows media player.

Why not u use Gmail notifier in Mozila firefox browser. It may solve messenger's problem.
