FreeHand MX had some problems with Tiger (OS X). If you are using FH for your workflow, you have to wait till MM work on the patch which is highly impossible IMHO.

$129 doesn't sound cheap as most of its new functions are bells and whistles. The best you can get is a true 64-bit OS that's all.

  3. Mmmm... In fact Fireworks runs faster in my computer than Photoshop. I think last one spends more time loading.

Of course as PS is a much complicated program. My point is when working with bigger images, fireworks tends to slows down after working with it for sometime and the speed in manipulating images is much slower than in PS.

Fireworks do have it's strong points in creating web graphics. Is there a way in Windows to make Fireworks work faster? Or just have to wait till MM improved its speed.

I still before MX2004, fireworks was a real slow program.

  4. anybody use this programm for animation? do you have any cool tutorials or if you know a site with good tuts?

What's the best program to use for animation and which is the easiest?

    55632

It's used for web graphics and simple web banner. For animation, you need to use a program that's designed for that purpose. e.g 3ds Max, Maya, Cinema 4D.

For 2D animation in a small outfit, flash, toom boom studio, the tab seems to be more suitable than using image ready.

  5. Just click on the brush tool and start painting. you can then change ita attributes at the propertise box below the screen and from the pop-up button you can chage the attributes to different brushes and strokes. I isreally easy to use, just that you have to explore and use it often. Enjoy fireworks! cheers.

  6. for the same reason I still use freehand 8.0 - it's the best version of freehand. It work's for me fine... but still - I would recommend Illustrator, it has evolved very much to excellent vector draw aplication... ;)

FreeHand is the most usable version so far on Mac OS9. It's a pity that FHMX on OS X is full of bugs.

FH seems to be in a slumbering mode. MM might as well sell it to other company that is willing to develope it.

  7. I always wnted to know something about Dreamweaver..

Is there like a website builder in it where you snap images together and get the html code later?

    45703

There are a lot of software doing just what you want. These include front page, dreamweaver, golive, hotmetal pro etc....

want you use will mostly depend on your budget and what type of web sites you intend to build. There is no hard and fast rule.

  8. Adobe Creative Suite & Macromedia Studio MX 2004. You can do almost anything regarding graphic design with these two packages and won't go wrong as it is used by graphic design industry. You can have power to create your design. You can swap files with printersOther designers can open your files.

  9. I am wondering which is better to use for creating 3D graphics.1) Is it on a Mac or PC?2) What are the platform that most 3D artists use?It seems that most people are using a PC to me? Any know reasons. Thanks in advance. No flaming please and this is NOT on platform wars as I need so geniue answers from people who have worked in the 3D industry before as I am interest in picking up the skills.thanks

  10. To add to my point, games must also ran on Linux... youngsters are the future. If they started on linux, the future may be there for linux. then the graphics dept, video dept..... these are where big bangs came. It has always amused Microsoft why designers swear by using a Mac... with that Mac is able to undergo it's worse times and came out stronger.

  11. A visit to the adobe website didn't says it support linux platform. Are you using it with an emulation software? Or do you mean linux's own image editor.?Until most basic host of apps were rewritten in Linux and further easy of use on it's GUI, I don't see it will caught on fire with the masses though I personally see great potential in this OS.3rd party support and vendors are very important. e.g if I buy a drive or mouse, I must be confident that it will have the driver optimised to run it the computer.

  12. I have read on magazines that a number of companies in the movie industry uses linux for rendering computer generated images. Is there a specific reasons for doing that? Is it due to cost or stability? I would like to see linux desktop as another alternative to Windows and Mac OS X. But software support from major vendors seems to develop very slowly. Linux programmers should make the OS as easy to use as a Mac to gain wide acceptance. Most users are not bothered to learn all the commands to get things done.Hope that 2005 will be a break through year for linux to gain more support from 3 party vendors.

  13. Hi, can I fix a computer with only 1 small fan to reduce noise? My present one has got 3 fans and it's very noisy. With only 1 fan, will the cpu overheat? I don't live in cold weather, so i am a bit worried about that. What brands of fan will be good for this kind of config. I've seen people using a huge fan inside the case. does it cost a lot of noise?
