Right. One of the first browsers to implement tabbed browsing was Safari on the Mac. So, somebody copied somebody, eh?
-
I happen to disagree. I actually think that most programs that can run in PC either have a higher-end FREEWARE version that was created with the same quality as the Mac OS was created with on the Mac, or the same program is available for that operating system. I was in the same mindset you were in when I first went to buy a Mac, but now I've learned that there is really no difference between both OSs in regards to compatibility. I run Microsoft Office, MSN Messenger, VLC Media Player, Adobe Photoshop, and much other Multi-OS programs on my Mac as it is. In regards to games: almost any game you see for PC is available for Mac. Check it out for yourselves: http://www.apple.com/search/games For more information about why you should Switch: http://www.apple.com/mac/

I still haven't had a chance to move my website over to Xisto just yet, but here is my blog: http://alexius.buildtolearn.net/

The only reason it holds a monopoly over such a large amount of users is that it comes preloaded with all PCs, and since they are the majority of all operating systems used (that is, Windows PCs to clarify) people do not really bother on finding another browser when theirs seems to work alright. Alright, however, doesn't cut the cake. The fonts in IE suck... it needs anti-aliased font (as somebody had said earlier). Additionally, it needs to load webpages with a W3C Standard so that instead of screwing up webpages that don't write styles specificially to work in IE, all webdesigners require less code to complete a webpage. This is coming from a webdesigner who had to spend around 20 more hours on his CSS to actually get his site working 95% well in IE, while in Safari, Firefox, and Camino, it runs perfectly.

You're telling me that you're willing to pay 6$ a month so you can join a community that has become obsessed with the idea that anyone who's better than them are modders, and that the only thing worth playing Halo for is for an extra level? No offence, but global competition like that drains all of the fun from a game - that's not even considering the price you're comparing at... 0$ to 6$ a month.

Wow. People never actually realized that, like all OS features that are non-Mac, Linux programmers had copied this idea from Apple and their latest MacBook Pro notebook. It contains a sudden motion sensor that detects sudden movement and turns off the harddrive. Programmers had decided to use this so that whenever you "smack" your MacBook, it will change desktops. (Link - http://gizmodo.com/176255/smackbook-pro). Also, there is something known as the MacBook Lightsabre, where this motion sensor can equally be used to create appropriate lightsabre sounds, as if you were swinging around a lightsabre. Paolo Cohelio - is it anybody who can really like this?
Alexius replied to burnego's topic in General Discussion
I thought that the "Alchemist" was actually a very well-written book. I suppose that if you think that you don't come from any of his books changed, even if it is just a slight amount, then you must obviously not understand any of his novels...if there any others other than the "Alcheimst."Mainly, people tend to hate or fear what they don't understand... I found that the "Alchemist" represented, quite metaphorically and with an underlying meaning, a way to enjoy life, and to find true enlightenment and happiness. I found it very enjoyable. That's just my opinion, however. -
Will You Be Dumping Your Desktop For Google Apps?
Alexius replied to delivi's topic in Search Engines
It seems more and more that Google is beginning to monopolize the industry. -
To the person who said that Gmail is secure, I'd have to disagree with you. It can be hacked and your files can be taken just as easily as it can be from the site stated above.

Yes. That is true, to a degree. It can cause destruction, but this is only because of human greed and human nature. In actual fact, just like anything else, nuclear fission can either be a weapon or be used for good. Nuclear fission could create energy for the general populace, or of course if it is left going in an uncontrolled reaction, it will cause a destruction seen in Hiroshima. Overall, technology is technology - even if we unlearn this technology, we will eventually invent something just as deadly.

Mircrosoft "ipod Killer", Mp3 Player Wars picture and info
Alexius replied to hedzup's topic in Science and Technology
Right. That's definately not a rip-off of the iPod. Yeah. It just has a circular pad, with a centre button, and a play/pause button, and a back button on either side. Yeah...and I forgot the clear pearl theme look. The funny thing is is that Microsoft, like it always does, is copying Apple. Apple's new iPod that is being released this fall will have all these features that this so-called "iPod killer" will have PLUS much more (internet iTunes surfing and more). Just like Windows Vista copying Mac OS X, it is simply an immitation, but I think, however, this time this "iPod killer" will lose. The iPod has generated a whole cult that no Mp3 player to this date, even though there are many with MUCH more features than it, can kill. Sorry. The iPod rules. -
I'd have to say that the most enjoyable and engaging multiplayer game is most likely Halo 2. I know its basically the cliche of all multiplayer gaming, but I'd have to agree with its efficiency at engaging the player for hours on end... the problem is just that. I always tend to play a bit longer than I should be when I do play it!Xbox Live...however...sucks. I'd recomment the free XBConnect if you do consider playing it.

Why not just used the Apple-released Boot Camp that is freeware? It allows you to dual-boot Windows XP, instead of slowly try to emulate it natively.
