Spectre replied to stevey's topic in Websites and Web Designing
How come on 'Stevey's' website, it says 'Welcome to Martin's Website Error Page'? :PI would have assumed it would be 'Steve's Website Error Page'.Just seems funny is all. -

My Windows 2000 Advanced Server box seems to be the most reliable Windows machine I have. Windows 2000 Professional seems to fail a bit more often, and Windows XP fails on a regular basis. -
I heard they do great body waxing jobs there...

Roly, what drug's are you taking? :PI never, ever, ever look forward to school returning.

And how did you manage to get ahold of Longhorn, if it isn't yet released? I trust you are not into pirating software... -
Shackman, I've already warned maillst via private message. Just delete his posts if they are spam, and we'll have to get in touch with the admin if he keeps it up.

Anyway, this is getting off topic. Keep it on the subject, please.

One file? I don't think so, buddy. IPB v1.3 is made up of around 400 files, and that's in its original/unhacked state. You are probobly referring to the fact that most actions are called through the file 'index.php', as shown in the address bar. This file doesn't contain many functions in itself (although it does have some); most functions are in other files which are called from the index.php file (via include, require, etc). One of the larger scripts is the functions.php file, which contains most of the functions for IPB - which is over 3000 lines.

You abuse Microsoft, yet you happily use their products? Sounds slightly hypocritic to me. -
maillst has been spamming all over the forums. Apparently, he/she thinks people are too stupid to notice or something.*SPAM post deleted.

Regardless of whether or not you intended it as a joke, this is not an incestuous forum. Please do not post such content again.

Using Google's AdSense is not copying other peoples ads, assuming you have signed up with them and are using your own account.

cateye999, if you are going to copy someones movie review, the very least you can do is credit the original author with writing it. This same review, word for word, was found here and here.

It's Linkin Park, named after Lincoln Park, named after the American President.

This was in response to KKI's statement: It had nothing to do with you templest, although I still don't appreciate my posts being edited in such a way that it completely reverses what I am saying. Editing a post to remove unwanted content is one thing; editing it to try and make someones opinions appear different than they really are is another thing entirely.

I'm not 'gagging' anyone. If I were to be doing that, I would have deleted this thread, which would be pure idiocy or as you say, 'Nazism'. I am not saying you can't criticize templest. I am in no position to be orderring anyone around at these forums; I am saying that I will not stand for the criticism of someone who helps out around here like templest does. My initial statement was: I do not remember saying at any point that you will not put forth any criticism. I said that I would not support it, and that I suggest that you don't do it. No offense, but I can't help laughing at this.

Uh, I don't think so. The entry may have been listed in Google, ie. your site's URL, but not it's title or any information about it whatsoever - because it hadn't been crawled yet.
-
On average, it takes about six months for your site to get into Google's index, which means it won't be crawled by them at all until that time. Have patience. Try submitting links to your site to various services, in 'critique' or 'review' sections of forums, etc. Just don't SPAM it anywhere.

Your current rank is: 'Newbie [Level 3]'. If you look around, you'll notice ranks of 'Newbie [Level 1]', 'Newbie [Level 2]', and 'Newbie [Level 3]'. As of yet, you have reached Level 3. You should be 'promoted' shortly, after you reach 50 posts.

I think what EricDrinkard is trying to say is 'Remain active in the forums after you have received hosting, so that your account doesn't get deleted'.EricDrinkard, it's kind of annoying and hard to read when you capitalize the first letter of _every_ word. -

No offense psp-playstation, but seeing as you are only 14, I wouldn't go bragging about it or making a big deal about it until anything significant actually happens. Not that I am wanting it to fail or anything, but it is quite possible, if not likely.Maybe it would do you good to keep a lid on it until anything actually happens.Just a suggestion. -
This is not a democracy. This is Xisto.Critisizing a moderator who contributes as much to the community as templest does (even though I don't always agree with him) will not be tolerated by me. Other moderators are free to take their own stand on that view. You have got no idea what templest and myself (especially templest) are required to do. I spend hours each day crawling through all the posts that have been submitted, trying to filter out the junk so that people like you don't have to put up with it. And there is no pay or any other rewards involved. I don't even have hosting here.If you are ever made moderator, I hope you get as much flack as templest does about your work.
