  1. Web 2.0 is acutually a blanket tem describing a new wave of user interactive web technologies that have been developed since the year 2000. Some of the technologies are Blogging, Community Search Engines (Del.icio.us, etc.), Flicker, Ajax, Google's IG, Wiki's (Wikimedia Project), anything that allows fro customizationa and user input.Web 2.0 is not a brend new internet, but a new addition to the exixting internet an user base. As more and more people begin to use these new technologies and learn to develpop new things for those sites, we are progressing away farther and farther away from the old web 1.0
  2. I have just found the coolest mouse ever. Its made by Gyration and the way it works is that the mouse when the 3D mode is activated, the mouse senses where it is located in a 3D cube, and when moved on either of the threre axis X,Y,Z it will move the mouse. As well as having a 3D mode if you place the mouse down on a flat surface them mouse will change over to a standard mouse. In addition to woking as a mouse it also has a mode, when the mouse is in 3D mode you can make certain gestures that will make your computer do predefined macros or functions. This is probably the best mouse for people with limited mouse space and people looking for a new gadget to try out If you want more information got to http://www.gyration.com/
  3. There are "BROADBAND" Speed toping out at over 13 GigaBits... and that isn't even scratching the surface of some of the ultra highspeed connections between major universities. Caltech alone shatterd the long running internet speed record of 23.2 GigaBits, and set the bar @ 101GigaBits. Even a true Dedicated T-3/OC3 line will run you upwards of 12,000 dollats per MONTH . BTW, gigabit ethernet has been out almost as long as the CAT5e(ethernet) standard. Its just that people are too cheap and sont want to pay alot of money to have the right equipment and network cables. NOw however almost every buisness desktop has GigaBit ethernet, its just that a normal person has to go to a computer specialty store or buisness wholesale stroe to get true gigabit ethernet (CAT5e). However, for the avid DIY'er, for almost pennies on the doller you can buy like 100 ft. reels of gigabit ethernet cable from electrical suply depos, as well as a tools and end caps that will let you make your own custom length CAT5e cables. THis is a great thing, because it it can cut down on the possibilty for interferance an if you run the cable right people wont trip on them .
  4. In addition to checking out bittornado, you should also check out ľTorrent. This is, I think one of the nicer and easier to use bittorrent clients. P.S. There is no installer, the program that you download is the program its self. Great for people who keep their life among other things on those little USB flash drives. Also very lightweight when it comes to processing power. Ran it on a Sony Vaio, Windows 98, 64MB ram 200Mhz proc, while typing a paper. Not even a hicup. Also insludes a built in search bar that will allow you to search your favorite torrent engine (Some set up required... its realy easy)
