HI there, im new to Xisto too but i do like their hosting and the fact that you earn points by posting on this forum is very cool. This is by far the best free host ive come across and recomend it to everyone. Im currently making a website for my Call of Duty 2 clan since im also very good at web design. Sounds like your running Windows XP Service Pack 2. This version of windows comes with a built in windows firewall and alot of security features. That red shield notifies you that some of those features are turned off and your computer is now vulnerable to hacker and virus attacks. One way to make that red shild go away is to actually turn on the firewall and other features, it wil make that icon trun green (i think) and sertanly get rid of those popups. To turn it on right click on your My Computer icon and select Properties, thre you will see a tab saying something like Security or Firwall or something like that. Click on it and turn on all the features. This is the reason i dont have Service Pack 2 cause that damn message is annoying and im just too lazy to go in and fix it

Well, i dont play Counter Strike, however i do play Call of Duty 2 which many people know does not have an Anti-Cheat feature because the developers did not plan to release the game for PC, yet they somehow descided they will make a port for PC and now the COD2 gamers are frustrated with the ammount of cheating going on on all the servers.Anyway, I run a Call of Duty 2 server (70.29.248.209:28960) and am very good at that game since ive played Call of Duty 1 and its expension United Offensive since the day it came out. Many of the people who play on my server constanly accuse me and my clan members of hacking just because we're good. It pisses me off that people think just because im the admin i hack on my server. Some of the people that play on the server actually do use their aimbots and wallhacks and its quite hard to monitor the server 24/7 for hackers so im desperatelly awaiting the Call of Duty 2 patch which will hopefully have Punk Buster feature for COD2.

I prefer AMD cause it is not as expensive as Intel and much better for gaming. Just because AMD CPU clock is alot lower doesnt mean its less powerfull than Intel. Intel has been lagging behind AMD for some time now, yet they still cant come up with a reasonably priced chip that matches the performance of its AMD equivalent. Yea, some people would prefer Intel just because it offers the support for DDR2. However, once again, higher clocks dont mean more power as AMD with its DDR3200 can easily beat Intel with DDR2 and it will cost less than Intel. So consider these facts and choose wisely.

I have a Samsung 715N LCD 17" (i think thats the right model, dont really remember lol)Well, it seems to be larger than my other Samsung 753DF 17" CRT and the resolution on my LCD can be set to much higher. This is mainly because they measure CRTs not by the screen size but by the frame size unlike the LCD which are measured by the size of their actual screen. The only drawback of LCDs is their response time, if it is anything higher than 18ms you will see the "ghosting" effect when playing games so it is preffered to have a bigger CRT monitor with a high refresh rate for games.

As for the new video cards, you'll have to have alot of money just to get yourself a top notch video card. Its probably the most expenive part of your PC setup. So if you feel like paying $700+ for a video card that is soon going to be outdated, just wait another couple of months and get one twice as fast for the same price

This is really an interesting news, i bet you all remember few months ago when apple implemented intel processor on theire new machines, it was a pretty shocking news since the rivality of both companys, it seems that apple is finnally twisting his arm. Few days ago Apple annunced that windows would be a choice for mac users, actually you can have windows in a mac machine, but you need special emulator, and at the end it makes it slow and bad performance, but right now apple will put a feature in their machines that will let you switch between os, without compromicing performance and resources. And actually it,s a really bold and smart move, cause there out there a lot of Windows users that loves macs look and macs performance but hates mac os and the lack of compatibility with other software , in fact i am one thos guys, lol. Maybe this is the beginning of a change in apples company objectives. But the simply fact that you would be able to run windows on mac, certainly will get THOUSANDS of more users to mac machines. Man, ive been meening to read some of those hacker books and magazines but its kinda hard to find them let alone understand them. You need to have alot of programing and general computer knowledge to even come close to understanding them lol. I am not a hacker myself but i admit that ive been hacked a couple of times so reading those books would really give me some insight on how they operate and help me protect myself better (that is of course if i understand them lol)

Yes id have to say what ull need is adaware or spybot. Also check out the tool Hijack This, it can help u get rid or the annoying browser hijacks, but use it with caution and dont mess with it alot. Any antivirus software could be helpful at identifying the virus (if it is one) but they will not help much at removing those viruses.The best way for you to get rid of that "bug" would be to format your HD and reinstall windows. One other way would be to switch your browser and make it a default one. Dont know if it will help much but in the future i suggest u do not use Internet Explorer, get yourself FireFox or Netscape and you'll much more secure.

Don't worry, english is not that hard to learn or understand. It's just the reading and writing part that throws off those who learn it. It always pisses me off that one word can be written in several ways and sounds exactly the same, and the stupid exceptions in the past tense are quite hard to get used to but if u practice it ull get it. So chear up and get to learning lol

Id have to go with the PC even thou its not a console. There are alot more online games for PC than any consoles and we all know that the most fun part in games is the multiplayer. Sure there are games for consoles that do support multiplayer but look the size of the console servers compared to the pc ones. The only drawback for pc is that it costs alot more than the console.However, if you ask me what console do i think is the best id have to say Xbox 360 since it can deliver alot of "horse power" for the graphacs obsessed and already has a nice collection of games. We'll just have to wait and see if PS3 can come out and beat it in the future.

Ok first of all, what is VSP Stats. Basically it's a php script that allows game admins to parse their logs and create detailed player and game statistics. What you need in order to set up VSP: Apache Web-Server 1.3-2.x PHP 4/5 MySQL 4 (mysql 5 is not yet supported) Access to your game's log file though ftp A web service that allows external php ftp connections like Xisto.com Setting up VSP: - Download VSP core files from the main website http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ - Download Media files from the main website. This will allow to display weapon, map, and award pictures from your game. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ - Create a MySQL database specifically for VSP stats. - Upload the VSP core and media files to your web host. - Change the VSP config corresponding with your MySQL setup. VSP config can be found in /vsp/pub/configs/cfg-default.php folder. Find the following code and change it: $cfg['db']['hostname'] = "Address of MySQL Database"; $cfg['db']['dbname'] = "MySQL Database Name"; $cfg['db']['username'] = "MySQL Username"; $cfg['db']['password'] = "Username Password";You also need to configure the username and password for ftp access. To do this find the following code and change it. $cfg['ftp']['logs_path']= " Full path to /vsp/ftplogs/ on your web server"; $cfg['ftp']['username'] = "FTP Username"; $cfg['ftp']['password'] = "FTP Username Password"; $cfg['ftp']['pasv'] = 1; //enable or disable passive mode $cfg['ftp']['overwrite'] = 0; //value of 0 resumes the log file from the last locationIf you scroll down you'll find a bunch of other options you might want to change. Also -p savestate 1 tells VSP to remember the end position of log file so that it will not start parsing your log file from the begining which can create major issues. Make sure you input your ftp address in quotes "http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/; If you are getting errors downloading the log file CHMOD your /vsp/ftplogs/ and /vsp/logdata/ to 777 using your favorite FTP client. Once you are finished you will see player names and their stats if you navigate to http://yourdomain.com/vsp/pub/themes/bismarck/index.php. Here is an example of vsp stats in action: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ If you want to change the user arrangement from default skill based to kill based, you can find this option in \vsp\pub\themes\bismarck\settings.php Good luck and have fun setting up VSP stats for your clan.

Does google talk aloud you to make phone calls, isnt just a chat program? For me skyp has worked fine, i made phone calls to spain, to the US, even my same country and didnt get any lag, even one time i first call spain by regular phone and i the lag was terrible then minutes after i called by skype and all was marvelous lol. Sometimes it gets a little, little, little laggy, so little that you woudlnt even care.The pc to pc calls are even better.Well thats for me, too bad that you dont like it lol lol

Well i knew that in first time the game was gonna be released for pc in march 9 but then they switch it to may cause they wanted to improve the pc version, maybe this one its a lot better.

yeah i know i started in the multiplayer games with unreal i love it, but i wasn able to go online so i end up playing more quake cause of that, and the the ut2004 i really didnt like it.

Well right now i have a P4 3 GHZ with 1GB ram, but i dont remember if it was ddr or ddr2 (how can i know), and a ati radeon x600 256mb, its not so bad configuration for now, but if i want to get into more complex works in 3ds max i definitly need more resources.Hey windandwater do you have a website, where i can see your work, that would be nice, like talking to people with the same interest. lol

Dude are you sure about that cause i seen the videos and it looks really amazing, but yes the main reason i want it its the online play, cause thats the fun part of the games, but this one really seem differente in sigle player mode, well i dont know i need another opinion.Can you tell me how many levels do the game have, and how many online levels?thanks dude
