Microsoft is ditching Frontpage, but I can't remember what it's being replaced with. With regards to your point, there is no need for anyone to upgrade to this new version, as the one which is currently available will do everything. There is a special Student and Teacher copy, at a reduced price, albeit with less programs. The interface looks really different, and the first time I saw it, I thought to myself, I'm gonna get confused, but I'm sure when it's delievered, within an hour we'll all get the hang of it. pretty Classy UI as well, I suppose Microsoft is trying to lessen the differences in terms of looks, between Office on Windows and Office on a Macintosh

That is very true, however it seems that Winzip is more popular. Why is that. I think it's because people aren't aware of winrar, and as most compressed files have a *.zip extension, the name "winzip" just seems appropriate. Anyone remember back in 1997, when we had PKZip and PKUnzip?? I wonder whatever became of them?

So, do you go to a building and meet other programmers, or is all of the interaction done over the internet. As a programming savvy, enthusiastic student, I would be most interested, but I don't think being in the UK would allow to participate.

Microsoft Warns Users Of Pirated Windows Os with a Desktop Message
tt3 replied to Inspiron's topic in Operating Systems
It is about time Microsoft really got tuff on pirates, instead of putting up pathetic nag screens warning people. The way I see it, MS, should have a screen come up, locking users out of the operating system, and hard coding it into the OS. -
It's a cheap way of exploiting people in order to get high ratings. There's very little quality inthe programmes, and on the whole, they are a complete bore! I don't know why anyone would bother to watch them to be honest!

Visit My Forum another bad reference here
tt3 replied to itsmyard's topic in Websites and Web Designing
You shouldn't enforce the restriction that forces new users to register before they can visit your boards. Before people sign up to new forums, they like to look around to see if the messages there interest them. Unless you're running a secret board, (which you're not as you're advertising it here) you shouldn't need to do that. -
Also, as well as just giving an opinion, expand on it, so for example:Instead of - I like Norton AntivirusSay - I like Norton anti-virus because of its ease of use, and high detection rates. Also, use the new posts button to check for threads that haven't been responded to. Often I am frustrated when seeing a thread and thinking "i can reply to this" and finding that 6 other people have said what I was about to say, but in different words. Suppose great minds think alike! And if you're really stuck, start new threads without stepping into the spam region. (On Xisto, spam is loosely defined so watch out!)Good Luck, and welcome to the forums!

Warez isn't allowed on here, anyway, Cubase will slowly start crashing more and more often, untill it's unusable. For $300, they're gonna make sure no-one pirates it!

It's a shame there aren't more teachers like yours in the school, but I'm truely shocked that you can't use pen drives. Over the past few years, the pen drive has been the most useful tool in our school! Our cd's are blocked as well, but we're allowed USB sticks at least. Then again, it's not surprising considering our school sells them.

I've been using McAfee's anti-virus since Version 4.3 came preinstalled on my Windows 98 machine. It's very reliable, and more importantly, does what I want it to do.

Do we really need web accelerators?? Really? I don't think that with broadband speeds ever increasing, there will be a market for them.

In the United Kingdom, you can be arrested for racism, but the crime isn't called that. You can be convicted for racially aggravated assault or racially aggravated abuse. These often carry higher sentences than regular assault and abuse.

Just the other day on my old pc, I replaced Windows ME with Suse Linux. As I don't play games, and mainly use the computer for web browsing and listening to music, as well as writing the odd document, I had no problems with switching. It's far more stable, than my Windows ME OS, which just crashed everything! Another good feature, which was partially done in MS Windows, but not implemented, was that to make any system changes, you have to log on as the root user, meaning that unauthorised users can't do as much damage.
