  1. . a little bit, but im asking because some colleges and universities from my country want to set up a backbone, but as i can see, is going to be impossible :S
  2. mmm this tutorial works for DSL connections, or just for dialup?
  3. Its Amazing!!!! Sonyericsson is working together with the Mighty Google to make a very simple moblog (mobile blog) that can be used from sonyericsson mobile phones, so you can upload to your own blog pictures, music and text, being much easier than using a third party blog provider. Im really exited with that idea, because technology is getting shorts the bounds between people, places and cultures, the question is: Is something bad going to happen with this technology revolution? The answer: quite possible, but first we should learn how to use this tools correctly. If you want to check for more info about the Google Mobblogging, please check: [ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ]
  4. well, i have a big (huge) question, how a ISP make a backbone? thats because in my country doesn't exist a backbone(and obiously the speeds are very slow), and i want to know how..... The first thing that i think is a huge computer, (or a several group of them) like sgi supercomputers [ http://www.sgi.com/products/servers/?/4000/ ] but if anyone can help me to understand the way of working of a backbone i will be very pleased, Thanks
  5. Let's make a bet: in 1989 Test driver just sized 300KB ---- [ 10 years later ] -----> Need for speed high stakes (road challenge) sized like 300 Mb in hard disc installation ------[ 6 years later ] ------> Need for speed most wanted, 3 GB of HD space, ...... that means that in less than 6 years its quite possible to found games of 30-45 GB so, in 15 years 300 GB will be insufficient..... LOL!!! technology is on its best moments,!!!
  6. OmG!!! i got astounted when i noticed that Optware is designing a disc capable to store upto 300 GB, also file transfer rates are quick enough to burn the entire disc in less than 30 minutes!!! But theres a small problem.... the reader drive too expensive: $2700and the writer drive...... much more expensive : $20,000, also each disc will cost $100 Check it out http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/11/24/maxell_holo_storage/ and http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

  8. Well, as everybody knows, Google use RedHat in their servers, also they are helping with the Open office project, with mozilla Firefox browser, but, maybe you're asking, is that relevant???The answer is yes, because is the first Big internet company interested on this kind of projects, obiously Microsoft is not very happy with that, and also, they are trying to make the life impossible to Google, do this: try opening a page from microsoft in firefox, now tell me what happen? All the style get shrinked and the only thing that you can read is: "This page requires Microsoft Internet Explorer to be viewed, download it here".Microsoft is trying to make Internet as his way, otherwise, Google is trying to unify everything, also making the applications all-based from the web, For example: A "word" that runs from a server into a webpage, so you can enter into an address that opens a word processor or a spreadsheet.Well i think that the future will be something like an OS running from web, and also documents will be saved in servers. Now, what do you think about it??
  9. LOL in fact, everythin on internet are numbers, (IP's) that works like a separated phone number for each computer on INternet, a ip is given as xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx like 192.168.1.1
