  1. I have used the free zone alarm for about a year and I never experience a problem like that. And I often leave the computer connected to the internet for days at a time. Maybe your installation got corrupted or something like that.
  2. I like it better than frontpage, but if you dont want to shell out the money for it, you can try a free program like AceHTML. It gets the job done and its easy to use. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  3. What do you estimate as the average cost to install a water cooled system? Do i need to run a water pipe to the computer as well? It sound interesting, but i dont want it if its going to cost me too much.
  4. Most of those sound like fast money making scams, any why are some of those an executable file? Very suspicious,
  5. Do you know if this works with 56k modems? How is the quality of the sound in it?
  6. As a student you can get pretty good discounts at places like your colleges book store. I remember seeing macromedia products with a 70% discount there. So it isnt so expensive for graphical design students.
  7. Did you take down the site? I all i get is a blank page.
  8. All i need is my good old pc. I also have a ps2 wich I havent used in about a year, but I still keep it for when metal gear 3 comes out
  9. The hardest game I played was Robinsons Requiem. It a super realistic survival game where there are more than 100 ways for you to die. Pretty interesting to play for a while, until you realize there is no way you will manage to beat it.
  10. STFU NUBZ NO1 T4K3$ 7337sP34K s3R1uSly Enym00r3!!!1one!!11 LOLOLOLOL WTF Ill go back to my corner now...
  11. For me, its a tie between Planescape: torment and System shock 2. Then it would be Civilization 2, half life, red alert 2, and Zelda: ocarina of time. Good games never die, you know. Fancy, state of the art graphics are for suckers.
  12. If you still need help on it, there are good tutorials here: https://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx/index.htm Thats where i learned everything I know about flash
  13. I drew mine in photoshop and then added the fancy effects on flash. It was pretty simple thanks to the free tutorials that describe everything step by step. So you might want to check out https://www.kirupa.com/ for some examples in their forum.
  14. Seems to be very big and awkward to use.
  15. I remember buying one about 6 months ago for about 20 bucks. Only one of the local stores here still carries them, so it really depends where you live. The flea market is a good place to look.
  16. Just can just right click on the ShowDesktop icon on the quicklaunch bar, and copy it over where you want it.
  17. I dont use IE, outlook or office, so I think i am on the safe side. But I will install the patch anyways.
  18. Could you be refering to Windows Xp FD ? Basically its a modified version of XP Pro, but it doesnt ask for serial key, has a different gui look, comes with many security fixes pre installed, and includes several freeware programs (like adaware) with it. Pretty awesome if you ask me
  19. Have any of you tried the longhor alpha? What is supposed to be so good about long horn? Does it offer anything beyond a new fancy menu bar?
  20. Surround your PC in a styrofoam/ carboard castle!!! It looks hella ugly but it makes it a lot quieter. I use it so the sound doesnt bother me when I am sleeping
  21. Bah, why pay $400 for a freaking card that will the half that price after one month? At the most I would buy something about the range of $120 at newwegg.
  22. You could also look at your local computer magazines and look for a used pc in the classifieds section. I gotten some pretty good deals that way. Newegg.com is also a good choise.
  23. If you are not going to use that computer for games or 3d modeling, I would stay with the integrated card, as it will do just fine for most other tasks. But if you want games too, I would get a simple AGP card for around $50. My old geforce 4 still plays doom 3 pretty well
  24. I use FTP surfer. Its free, fast and very easy to use; and doesnt have any ads or spyware. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  25. Has anyone heard of dBpower amp? Its a really useful program to convert music files from one format to another, and to rip and encode music cds. It supports plugins and works with most music formats. I used to re-encode my .wma to .ogg files so they would take less space while sounding the same.
