Steam has done what it hoped to achieve: it has brought together a package of related, but disorganized games, and presented them in a fairly simple manner for the consumer. It's true that it is a little demanding on system requirements, and it does have it's flaws, but Steam is where many PC games are going to be going in the future, like it or not.I think steam can recover from its flaws, and it already has to some extent. Consider the earlier versions of steam and the current version--it is improving.Anyway, as for a half-life dedicated forum, I personally don't think it's necessary. There doesn't seem to be much swamping of this forum with half-life related threads, and if you give one game a forum, then the halo fans/blizzard fans/any other fans will all want their own forums. It can get really subdivided and end up looking desolate and hard to navigate.just my two cents.

Metal Gear Solid by far. It's a matter of opinion in almost all respects, but I LOVED the Metal Gear Solid games. The graphics don't look great, but unlike the Splinter Cell games, it's much more clear when you've been spotted, and there aren't any of those moments where you're thinking, "COME ON! How could he have seen me!? I was hidden!", because in Metal Gear Solid, the stealth system is much more black-and-white than in Splinter Cell.Also, the story has been much more creative, in my opinion. Some people complained that it was over complex, or that there were too many cutscenes, (especially in Metal Gear Solid 2) but if you pay attention and try to take the story in, the game is much more satisfying than Splinter Cell.Splinter Cell is by no means a bad game, but in my opinion, Metal Gear Solid has beaten it hands-down.By the way, if anyone hasn't seen it already, check out the Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer. Sure, PlayStation 3 is probably going to be an overpriced piece of junk, but that video is absolutely amazing. Solid Snake is lookin' mighty old though...

My brother used to make these when he was younger, he and his friend would have contests to see who's could shoot farthest. All they used was a section of pvc pipe, with a T-bend thing attatched at one end, and the back of the T-section capped off and glued. They'd unscrew the other part of the T and fill it with fuel, (usually Arid XX spray deodorant) and use a grill lighter to ignite it. Unfortunately, our parents pulled the plug on our experiments when we started testing them without potatoes... A spud gun full of propellant with no projectile makes a reeeally nice flare. 15-foot fireballs shooting into the air over our back yard didn't float too well with my dad though.Anyway, that's a nice site you've made there, and I'd encourage anyone who's interested to try making a spud gun. Just make sure you're careful and don't blame me if something goes wrong. You ARE dealing with combustible gases, and if you construct one of these the wrong way, you could end up with something close to a pipe bomb. So uh... yeah. Be careful.

Whether or not it's a joke, it made me laugh. I can imagine them making up some fake blogs just for show, I don't think they could be serious. If they are... Well, I guess I don't feel too bad having a laugh at their expense.It is interesting though that SpreadFirefox has become big enough for parodies to arise. The market is opening up to new browsers, and even the Windows line of operating systems is losing some ground. In my opinion, this is a sign of progress against Microsoft's near-monopoly on the computer industry. It'll be nice to see things broken up a bit, and it might make things safer--it would make things harder for viruses, and malware wouldn't be compatible on everything.Let's hope this change of pace continues!

That's a tough one... I guess Half-Life 2 for PC, but that's only if you include the mods and other games that come in the Silver package, such as Counter-Strike: Source and Day of Defeat: Source, as well as Half-Life 1 and it's mods. Probably the best deal ever.If you mean strictly a single game? Probably Grim Fandango. It's an old LucasArts adventure game that has had relatively little publicity, but always had excellent reviews. Definately worth getting your hands on if you like adventure games at all.Then again, there's Metal Gear Solid, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Grand Theft Auto...Yeah, I spend waaaay too much time playing games.

Nvidia's midrange line is indeed hard to beat. I got a 6600gt about a month ago for $129.99 USD, and I'm quite happy with it. It's good to see that the video card companies are starting to pay attention to a lower-budget market. I just can't fork up the cost of a top-of-the-line card when a mid-range one will do.Let's hope they continue to pay attention to this market, it's definately pleasing the customers!
