  1. I believe we are the descendants of apes, but my question is: If one day, we can actually prove this, does that mean Christianity will seize to exist? At the rate at which technology is upgrading, I'm sure we will find something definitive soon. However, I'm not extremely eager to find out. Even though I don't believe in Religion, I am quite happy with the fact that people can believe what so if we never discover that man descended from apes, great. If we do, great.
  2. I read the review on IGN.. 10/10 game? When exactly was the last time they gave that review? That alone makes me want to buy an xbox 360 and buy Grand Theft Auto IV and never stop playing haha. I played a little bit at my mates house, and wow it was great. So much fun, awesome visuals and it was so in depth. However, I did see some comparison screen shots between Playstation 3 and xbox 360, and the 360 had better rendering. I don't know what everyone else thinks of this (I guess its the age ol gamer debate) but I would love to test the game on both consoles so I can decide which to buy.In saying all that, I love Wii. If only it was High Definition...
  3. I can't stand GIMP, but I think that is because I am more used to Photoshop. Sure, its free, but being a multimedia student I can get photoshop for what I believe is a great price for such a powerful program. Also, things like Corel Paint Shop Pro etc really annoy me, even though they have features that I prefer over photoshop. Why can't someone just come along and put all programs together to make a super program?
  4. I've got NOD32 on my computer at the moment, and I'm happy with it.. But I also have to run Spyware Doctor, because sometimes NOD32 misses things. After reading all your posts, I'm going to give Kaspersky a go, because it is obviously highly recommended. On the plus side, it also takes up less processes, which is a major thing for me (running 256mb RAM). I'll post how it goes later.
  5. So, on our network at work we have a virus called "rejoice46.exe", but no anti virus, anti spyware, anti anything will pick it up. I googled it, nothing happened.. By standard, we just deleted the file, but it comes back and then stops you from entering certain locations of your hard drive. Obviously, a reformat will rid the system of it, but in a network of over 200 computers, we don't have the time to do this, and reinstall all the programs and data. Any suggestions? Because at the moment I'm stumped. It feels as if I just have to sit there and let this thing infect our system.
  6. I'm going with either Vista or XP. This decision is made purely on amount of software available for Windows over all other operating systems. But if I wanted to get more picky, I could whine about the fact that Mac's are impossible to upgrade (which is why I'd never get a Mac, regardless of how good their Operating System is) and support for Linux is impossible to find on other than a forum. I run a really old computer at the moment, and the driver support that Ubuntu etc offers is only for up to date hardware items. Which is a shame, because I really enjoy Ubuntu on my mates computer. When I get my new computer I will try to triple boot XP, Vista and Ubuntu, but until then, XP for me.
  7. So in my house at the moment, my modem is running into a Belkin G+ router. We have a 2 story house and I sleep upstairs. My sister is also upstairs and her laptop picks up the internet... Just. I'm getting a new computer soon in my room and I want Wireless-N. I know wireless-N has more range/speed than G, but does this depend on the router? For example, will I be able to have faster/more stable internet than my sister because of the wireless-N card, or will I have to upgrade the router to an N series as well?
  8. This seems to be the debate at the moment. Halo 3 vs CS vs COD. Personally, I'm a massive COD fan (especially online), but I do enjoy Halo. That single game makes me want to an xBox 360 (along with GTA 4). There is no doubt that it is a very fun game, I don't buy into the whole "people with no skillz play Halo" talk. I play what is fun.
  9. Without the internet we would still be using phones like back in the stone ago :|Even though yes, the internet is used for fun things like chatting and gaming, I still use it primarily for research and information. Unfortunately, every time I hope on a computer, my family automatically thinks I'm looking at porn, it is definitely the most diverse source of information available. If only my technologically un-savvy family would understand that books or the library are not the only place to research information.
  10. I'm not sure if there is a topic about this, or even if this is right place to put it, just fix it or remove this if I did something wrong.Who has Mario Kart Wii? I love it, especially the fact that you have so many choices of how to drive whether it be with the steering wheel or nun chuck, auto or manual. It's awesome.Does anyone else have this? If so, what are your favorite um.. raceways? lol. Since I had Mario Kart on 64.. I'm quite partial to the old 64 maps. And Rainbow Road is gold.
  11. This thread is embarrassing for me, but thats alright, I'll post the specs I am on at the moment, but it won't be for long!Motherboard: Asus something or rather.. Not sure of the exact modelCPU: AMD Athlon 1.7ghzMemory: 256mb or Kingston RAMGraphics: Nvidia 128mb. FX series I thinkHDD: 80gb Seagate ParallelCase: 350w case with 1 back fan hahaLaugh away.
  12. You can overclock your CPU by going into the BIOS of your computer. The BIOS can be accessed by either hitting "delete" or "f2" upon boot. It depends on your motherboard as to which button you press.Once you are in the BIOS there should be a section for your CPU and you might be able to increase the power in there. If not, I think there is software available for overclocking your CPU, but I am not too familiar with them.
