Sorry that the topic name is not correct (mIRC not Mric). I can not edit its name Many people chat on mIRC and share their files (Xisto also has mIRC channel). you can download files (movie, video, music, book, etc). I often use it to download manga (Japanese picturebooks). So the instruction and example below is to download manga from some manga channel, but it can be applied for other file types. First, you have to download mIRC from http://www.mirc.com/, click Download mIRC After that, you click its icon , a new window appears: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png Click Continue This window displays: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png Type your information Note: Your nickname may be not available, so choose a different nick name Then, click DCC/Ignore: http://home2.accvn.net/dieulinh/mirc5.JPG Method: Choose Accept Only FIle Type: type file type you will download, for ex, *.zip, *.rar and click Add. So, these types of file are in your accepted list. Connect > Option: Click Advance, and tick on some square as below: http://home2.accvn.net/dieulinh/mirc3.JPG ==> http://home2.accvn.net/dieulinh/mirc4.JPG Connect > Server, In mIRC Server, you see some servers like this: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png Choose server you like to visit. For example, I need to download manga from Mangaproject (its mIRC channel is #mangaproject.irc.too.com) I choose IRCtoo: Random server Then, click Connect to Server. mIRC will connect you to chat room of IRCtoo. It takes a few minutes. A dialogue box show, ask which channel (for ex, #mangaproject, #shoujomagic , etc.) you like to join: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png You may add #mangaproject to your favorite list by Click Add and see this: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png In Channel section, type #mangaproject and click Add. So, #mangaproject is in your list now, and the next time, you only have to select it from your list instead of typing. After you choose #mangaproject and click Join, #mangaproject window will appear http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png If this is the first time you join this channel, please spend a little time to read its rule by typing: “!rule”. If you are familiar, no need to do that. But note not to break the rules or you will be kicked out of the channel, maybe some hour or worse, forever. Now, you type “list”to see download address, and see a mass of data. It seems confused, but don’t worry, you’l get use to it soon. Take a look and you will see some lines like this: http://imageshack.com/f/3zmirc7zx6j - Nick Name of person who offers you file: no need to remember but if they have lots of file and offer high download speed, it’s better to remember their name. - Trigger: it is important. It’s the download source. - Sends (sometimes S): maximum number of people who download at the same time. The more the better. - Queues (sometimes Q): Number of people who are waiting to download their files. If it is lont, “Queues: 7/15” means you have to wait 7 people downloading their files before you start. If it is big, 10 or more queues, you should ignore it. - Message: what fserve like to say. Sometimes, they says that they use firewall, sometimes it is an offer or advertising. Now, let’s try with Yuna-chan. Type her name (right after “Trigger”), note that you have to type accurately. Or you may select the whole name (move the pointer from the first letter to the end), hold Ctrl+C to copy and Ctrl+V to paste. Then, Enter, a new window shows up http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png Type: “dir” to see all folders http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png Next, type “cd __” (__ is folder name). Here, I(nickname linh)like to see folder ##[COMPLETE]##, so I type: “cd ##[COMPLETE]##” http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png After you come into ##[COMPLETE]##, you type “dir” to see a list of files http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png Again, you see it has subfolders, type “cd __” (__ is the name of file you like to see). i.e., type “cd ANATOLIA STORY” to see what inside the file ANATOLIA STORY. Next, type dir to see its subfolders: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png Now, I choose CHINESE, so I type “cd CHINESE (3-30) [C]” and type “dir” http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png Note: You have to type exactly its name. Now, a list of files appears, and you can download the wanted file by command “get” i.e, type “get anatolia25.zip”. Here I download file sora_ha_akai_kawa_no_hotori_14.zip, so I type “sora_ha_akai_kawa_no_hotori_14.zip” http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png Note: following each file is it size, i.e., 12.3Mb, don’t type this number! And a new line appears in the dialogue box: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png It means that you are the tenth in the queue, and you need to wait for 9 download competed before your download begin After a few minutes, a red line : “DCC session closed” appear. Don’t worry, your file will be downloaded as normal unless you log out mIRC. Now, your download ready, a dialogue box appear to ask your confirmation. Click OK. mIRC will send that file to your computer. Additional information: 1. Only use command “get” for file, not folder. File is the one with its size (…MB, KB)followed. 2. You can join many channel at once by click Tools > Favourite. 3. After you complete command “get” to download, you can type “Sends” to check ones who are downloading and “Queues” to see lists of queues. 4. File downloaded will be saved at C://Program Files/MIRC/download. to change it, go to Options > DCC > Folder, click edit: http://home2.accvn.net/dieulinh/mirc1.JPG --> http://home2.accvn.net/dieulinh/mirc2.JPG Browse the destination you save your files 5. Some channel requires you to register your nick. It is simple like a piece of cake. In dialogue Status, type “/ns register [password] [your email] For ex,: /ns register 123456 linh@yahoo.com And follow their instructions.

Well, it's the best to have a portable anti-virus program in your USB. Unluckily, I don't have . So just think that someone with an old USB like mine sees the giudeline useful . I had install anti-virus program in my computer, but I experienced so many times it was infected after I used it at the university's computers, and some files were badly damaged before I scanned it at home. But this way helps me a lot (though it's a little bit mentally) And, it can be applied to other drives in your computer, not only USB.

You have a USB and I’m sure that you had problem with it more than 1 time. The main reason is because of virus. And you will use antivirus software to delete these damn viruses, or might format it. But it is said that ‘Prevention is better than cure.’ I’ll show you some simples step to prevent your beloved USB from virus So how can you know that your USB is infected? When you right click your USB, you will see “Autoplay” in Bold in the first line. It means that your USB has been infected with virus, 90% possibility! Because the first line should be Open or Expore instead of Autoplay Virus can be communicated to USB because it copies itself to USB and creat a file autorun.inf to activate virus itself. And it is so smart to be in hidden form. When you insert a USB to your computer, it takes advantage of your habit of double-click on USB symbol in My Computer to break into your computer. There, it duplicates and disperses to everywhere. Their next patients are other USB inserting to the computer. You may follow these 5 steps to make a shell for your USB: Step 1: Check your USB’s name. For ex, your USB drive is E: and label is THANHNGOC Step 2: Convert file system of USB into NTFS: Start > Run, type: “convert : /FS:NTFS”. For ex, with your USB in drive E, you type: “convert E: /FS:NTFS”. Note: if your USB has function of MP3 and sound record, you should skip this step, because your multimedia player can not run MP3 files in your USB. Step 3: Create an autorun.inf with whatever content you want; even let it empty is okay. Copy that autorun file to your USB. (You may create file autorun.inf by: Click Tools on menu > > Folder Option> Chọn View > Remove Tick in square Hide Extentions for known file types> OK. Then make a new folder and name its autorun.inf. After that, you have to come back to select Hide Extentions for known file types. Otherwise, all file names are so frustrated.) Step 4: Right-click on the autorun file > Property > Tick Read Only, you may choose Hidden Step 5: Prevented all access to file autorun.inf: Click Start > Run > type: “cacls \autorun.inf /D Everyone”. For ex, you type “cacls E:\autorun.inf /D Everyone” A black window will appear and it may require you to type USB label. Type its name (I type THANHNGOC) and Enter. It takes about 5 seconds to complete. I do not say that you may prevent your USB from all viruses, but this way partly help your USB be safe to most virus infecting via USB. The last recommend is to install a reliable antivirus software with automatic update. Goodluck!

I have used Norton, Mc Afee, Avast, Kaspersky, AVG and BKav (only in Vietnam, I have not seen any foreign used them ). Each of them have unique strength. Some virus Kaspersky can detect and treat but some they can not. The same situation with other software. I experienced that AVG could not detect a virus (forgot its name) but when I installed Kaspersky, they were detected and neutralized.I tried installing 2 software at the same time, but it is the worst choice. They ate RAM and storage so much that I couldn't use Photoshop smoothly as usual. And here's my experience:Norton: consume much storage and make your CPU slow. Bother your work every time with its notice.Mc Afee: same same. Not professional Interface as others. No outstanding point.AVG: good if it's full version. If it's free trial, not good but can be accepted.Avast: not detect virus fast (especially when you insert a USB). Maybe because I used free trial.Kaspersky: the best recommended. It consume less storage and RAM than others. Safe and easy to use.Free software is good but the best is to use the full version. The last recommend: Don't use 2 anti-virus at the same time. They may dispute with each other. ^^

I think so. Just choose Horizontal Type Tool (as it always be) or shortcut T and drag a rectangle. No need to kill time You may choose Align Left, Align Right or Justify as in Word in the tool bar.I discovered after 2 weeks of using that the two Enter Key have diffrent functions. One to begin a new line and one to finish Type command. How fool!!

Which Email Address Do You Like The Best?
NgoThanhNgoc replied to A W K1405241550's topic in Computer Networks
Yes. That is Yahoo Mail Beta. I tried it once but it seemed confused and loaded very slowly. So many folders, boxes and other stuffs on the site. Good chance to exercise your eyes . If you have too many mails from customers for ex. and need to store in folder, the best advice is to use Thunderbird and Outlook Express. Your mails are well organized, all emails from a senders is put in one folder and you can define its name. But your incoming email is required to support POP3. Gmail is great! I like it a lot. So simple and POP3 support, other function is easy to use, too. I've used more than 2 years and have no problem. Luckily, now it is free to sign up instead of requiring invitation letter from a Gmail user as before. Anyway, I do not understand why "Hotmail has always been faithful and predictable"??? Are other mails not faithful to you?
